Finally, fanservice that’s not random panty shots. Gal’s just too old to have the need to show off or be apologetic about being lewd.

barsoap, to piracy in OpenSubtitles.org is shutting down it's previous API. Now only authenticated access allowed.

Not really, no. Those keys are more or less equivalent to a browser’s user agent, difference is you don’t choose your own but get them from OpenSubtitles. Motivation probably ranges from “that makes it easy to reject random crawlers” to “we’d like to know the people writing software against our API, or at least have a way to contact them”.

You’ll also be able to find examples of such keys in repositories in the future in case you don’t want to request one of your own but frankly speaking that’s a dick move.

Schools have more than one bus and they have to pass each other.

No they don’t they can enter from the same side. You’re just looking for excuses. Also why do you need buses in the first place why aren’t the kids walking or biking.

If we carry this to the meta level: The same people also decided that Leia kills Jabba in that very outfit and generally break a ton of damsel in distress tropes. Now you could say “But Ellen Ripley is just as if not even more badass, why not do that”, well, then you wouldn’t be messaging that getting demeaned by your captors doesn’t change anything about your capacity to badass, that the outfit, or Jabba’s general grossness, does not need to have power over your mind, just as horror doesn’t have power over Ripley’s mind. And you can’t just turn Star Wars into body horror so it has to have different hero characteristics.

I see nothing wrong with that message.

The same thing gender-swapped, though? Wouldn’t have the same impact as men typically get sexualised differently. It’s certainly been done in a sense, though, e.g. in Pulp Fiction.

Try switching Witcher 3 from using fullscreen to borderless window or the other way around, that fixed the fullscreen issues for me, it’s just the game getting confused about whether it has focus or not. That was before the update though haven’t tried since then.

That’s a general proton issue though and not NixOS, fullscreen just is fickle on windows and that extends to an emulated windows.

White supremacist my ass the people voting extreme right in Israel aren’t the Ashkenazi.

she got visibly confused and said, “Oh.”

Now I can’t read body language through text but maybe she had an assumption, that got destroyed, therefore she looked confused? It doesn’t mean that she didn’t know the lyrics or the man. Also do you enjoy being needlessly cryptic.

I don’t know what to do with confused disengagement.

Engage by reassuring, or changing the topic? Cracking a joke? (“Also, I’m way too lazy to colour-match”). Whatever.

What if you judge it as vapid because it doesn’t align with what you consider valuable improvement? What if it’s nigh impossible to express verbally?

…all I’m saying, basically, is that there’s unknown unknowns. Too much goal focus ensures that they’ll always stay that way.

If you want to challenge them then how are b) and c) prerequisites? Where’s the challenge when it’s already there? If you want to be challenged then are you ready to be challenged in areas other than that? What if someone wants you to challenge to b) eat healthy home-made food every day and c) develop the grace and skill to tame a social situation with smalltalk, instead of insisting that every verbal utterance be a philosophical dissertation?

I’ve had exactly zero issues with steam on NixOS. It might actually be the best distro to choose short of the officially supported ones as steam runs in chroot with exactly what it’s expecting in terms of libraries etc. Not a beginner-friendly distro though, user base is pretty much made up of devops, functional programmers, programmers appreciating replicable environments and willing to tolerate nix, as well as the odd enthusiast tinkerer.

barsoap, to lemmyshitpost in Whoopsie daisy, one should leave it to to the professionals maybe

If your RAM fails then it generally does so quickly, and also if your RAM fails you probably bought some bargain-bin stuff. As a rule of thumb don’t buy DIMMs from companies which don’t produce their own chips, or are extremely reputable. And with that I don’t mean “you have heard of them”.

They’re not economically left wing though: State capitalism is still capitalism. Bourgeois don’t cease to be bourgeois when they control everything, nobody else can control anything, and you have to call them comrade.

Where I’ll grant some left-wing tendencies is in things like raising literacy rates, but even when it comes to healthcare it’s a hit and miss – Cuba is quite excellent, China is as bad as the US.

What happens when you two disagree on what would actually be an improvement?

barsoap, to memes in I'm so good at time management that I hardly work at all

Also, it is a time management issue, on a cultural level. Try getting Germans to stay past their shift they’ll tell you to get better at managing. Not their department, not their problem.

Thinking “fixing this requires a socialist revolution” honestly is part of the problem: Organise to fix the issue, there, workers will see that issues can be fixed, fix more that comes up, and they’ll both be emboldened and educated about their strength. Foreplay before sex.
