It’s nice to meet all you. I am she/her, can speak Toki Pona and English (non-natively), and locatable on Reddit as MozartWasARed. The links at discord.gg/sEuSSDz6TQ and deviantart.com/…/My-copyright-policy-and-the-impa… are pertinent to me.

What is Something Scientific that you just don't believe in at all?

EDIT: Let’s cool it with the downvotes, dudes. We’re not out to cut funding to your black hole detection chamber or revoke the degrees of chiropractors just because a couple of us don’t believe in it, okay? Chill out, participate with the prompt and continue with having a nice day. I’m sure almost everybody has something...

shinigamiookamiryuu,

So much for honestly answering the question OP had. What did people expect, the status quo?

shinigamiookamiryuu,

To be fair, the Soviets also thought the space race to be all done with once they put their astronauts in orbit, and they weren’t really paying attention when America went to the moon.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

The only one I ever had for myself was the Wii U. Awesome idea that was never fleshed out.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

Chinese food. It’s etiquette in China to not eat the whole plate.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

I was born. That’s pretty much it. I was in my current country early on.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

All paths lead to the singularity. There is no going back. Every stumbling block can be circumvented. But if he was determined, he’d probably declare war on the undersea cables that transfer the internet between countries, which is so easy to do we’ve had to stop sharks and pistol shrimp from doing it.

What is your unpopular flim opinion

I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds

shinigamiookamiryuu,

I mean in general, not really all of them (for example, Spirited Away gets honorable mention on every list). I remember reviewers for Totoro trying their hardest to not spotlight the fact it has such a jumbled plot when movies have been panned for that before. A masterpiece is supposed to impart something onto someone, but except for Spirited Away and arguably Marnie, my main reaction was little more than “well now I can say I saw it”.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

What about the civilizations that currently exist that don’t have that connection but are still destructive?

shinigamiookamiryuu,

North Korea is perhaps the biggest example that comes to mind. They aren’t particularly known for anything having to do with capital (at least not in my side of things) and never had such a profound wealth-power connection as we associate with ourselves, yet they’ve been the most concerning part of the world of diplomacy for a while.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

Most really just dislike “the West” for its own misdeeds and interpret that as a cue to say “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”. This is a false way of going about themselves, especially considering the revelations about Palestine lately revolving crimes of mass violation, which are similar to what the perpetrators of the Nanjing Massacre did.

There is no shame in being deceived, but considering how I was treated for it all, I’ll be taking great relative pride in saying to everyone “I told you so”, just like I can do for Ukraine. Still don’t understood how anyone can say they’re pro-LGBT and not have at least a little respect for Israel or its people.

It also makes it misleading many of the people doing this siding identify as misanthropes when they like a whole faction of humanity enough to side unconditionally with them. A true misanthrope, by definition, sides with nobody. Take it from me. I have my reasons.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

That’s been done, though it’s much harder to do on living things because attempting to change the DNA of something that’s still alive opens up a can of worms that makes it not worth it. They’ve once proved you can encode the whole of Wikipedia on a few strands of hair.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

Make them think some of them have already come to Earth for whatever reason.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

I go by more of a criteria than a list. This criteria is followed personally but fits even more at my own workplace in the protocol. The criteria is really just things like “these businesses do not follow courtesy”, things like GoodWill, Autism Speaks, and Catholic Charities. There’s a charity ranker that has listed Catholic Charities as the top charity almost three years in a low. That’s on the blacklist too, we’ve known better all along. I can give a much larger list if asked.

It’s one thing to treat your people like fools, it’s another to run on gifting by members and still do it.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

I meant vote Libertarian in the context of the issue OP cares about, I didn’t mean I advocated Libertarians. Jesus guys, anyone here have any respect for individualistic self-determination in democracy?

shinigamiookamiryuu,

Yes, but what I mean is I didn’t expect Reddit to go full Hollywood on the term. It would be like Lemmy gatekeeping the term Lemming. So I then wondered if maybe someone else seized that opportunity.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

Hiccups, I was always told, are when the gases in something release out of it during digestion, like how a hollow carcass in the sea dissolves releases all its bubbles, which if correct, means it’s less a biological function and more a biological response, one that can be avoided by not eating anything hollow or that which contains a mixed chemical content capable of varying forms of interaction, hence the hiccups you might get after drinking certain beverages.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

Above everything else, the protocols should be compatible with one another.

Long ago, in the US, there used to be a law that said that, if you commit a crime in one US state and then travel to another state, the police in the first state can no longer pursue you and it becomes a problem for the next state to handle. This was one unsung part of why Wild West style bounties were a common thing in the past even on the East Coast.

Now if the protocol in each entity is so aloof from one another that borders become the strength of a saboteur, doesn’t that ruin the biggest perk of calling yourself the “united [insert thing here]”? It’s also worth bringing up when someone treats the US as one single entity, like when they say “those darn Americans and their guns” and “those Americans are so fat” like one state can enforce a stereotype for the other 49 (something nobody says about, say, Europe).

shinigamiookamiryuu,

And I’d say there’s nothing a creator could be prouder of.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

So in other words non-denominational? My denomination is so specific yet unspecifically connected to anything that you approximately described me as well. Without a doubt this can be said to be one of the driving forces of what we all talked about here. Jesus himself said the expression of love did not matter, it’s the love that counts.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

I thought Google Plus was amazing. It’s the only social media I would never foresee myself complaining about, even through its demise due to some politicians complaining about it.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

Pitcairn. I mean just look at it, sitting idly while everyone else battles it out with each other, perfect for those of us, myself included, who aren’t too pleased with the main players. It’s also one of the first places to have equal rights. And yet it suffers underpopulation and a declining population, as well as ridicule for some reason, including as a banned AskReddit topic. If countries were humans like in Hetalia, Pitcairn would be the fairest of them all.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

If someone is clear/consistent/understanding/honest/courageous with enforcement, the rest is subjective. These aren’t just any five random adjectives either, they are the ones that come to mind first (the first one foremost, which is why my server infamously has a myriad of listed guidelines). Can’t really do anything about the rest though. And sometimes you do have to remind people it’s your burrow (Lemmy equivalent term for subreddits) and cannot be blamed for any ban prescribed by the fine print no matter how abrupt it is.

shinigamiookamiryuu,

On Hypothesis, only someone else logged into Hypothesis can comment, if that’s what you mean. If you notice someone on there with the name ThisInstrumentalBreak, that’s me (you may notice me having used it to comment on this thread).

shinigamiookamiryuu,

Just what I’m doing right now. Not much else to do.
