I just woke up thinking about this; I have looked very briefly at Bottles (containerizatiom for games and programs), and I actually think it claims to do EA/Origin if I remember the screenshots correctly, but that was about a month ago and I totally forgot to look deeper. Still doesn’t check off everything but it’s still progress if so.

I’m currently latched into windows 10 until eol and I’ve been trying to switch to *nix for two decades now, but something has always been too much of a hurdle (dog war flashbacks meme of the wifi driver hell of the mid-to-late 00s) and I end up giving up, restoring from a backup and waiting a couple of years to do it all again. It used to be fun, genuinely, but yeah at this point I want someone else to do it these days and tell me what’s broken, I just want to enjoy my time these days. Troubleshooting and trying potentially solutions for a few days just to get nowhere isn’t the joy of learning that it once was.

It’s been a couple years since I tried the graphene camera, but (at the time) it’s essentially trash in comparison to the Google camera. I just use the gCam without internet permissions and call it a day.

But I’m not hardcore tin-foil ‘the NSA will use your office mirrors reflection to precisely heat up a 2mm space on the side of your phone that somehow enables Bluetooth and with that the G + glowy bois will exfiltrate your data at 10Kb/s’. I want additional security hardening and some privacy additions, but I also use the play services and store, like a typical user. Yada yada threat model yada yada - I just want my phone to simply function at the end of the day. Middle of the road, if you will, between stock os users and the guy that’s now boarding up all his windows because of the 2mm Bluetooth mystery vulnerability.

Unknown about the claimed AI features - my 8 pro is in transit. But I can check in a few days, if interested.

I’ve only used Thunder, but it’s been just fine and I haven’t felt like I need to see what else is out there. I guess it could be more responsive with reply notifications and such but that’s pretty minor.

I think you need a plex pass but am unsure, as I already paid the ‘lifetime’ sub before I added a tuner. I think so since the guides aren’t free (for plex) but it’s been a few years since I researched it all.

Ye, this is one thing I did for the folks, so there is always new stuff even when I’m not managing it. They have like 20 shows they are slowly recording.

I got the HDHomeRun Extend, 2 tuners in one unit. Slap an antenna on the wall and boom, extra functionality.
