NettoHikari, in What is your opinion about Lemmy not having karma but Kbin having reputation points?
@NettoHikari@social.fossware.space avatar

I never cared about karma points at all. I just said what I was thinking. Only annoying thing on Reddit was when you didn't have any karma at all.

People begin downvoting your post now, because you don't care. lol

Followupquestion, in What is the worst superpower that you can think of that is actually kinda useful?

Being able to breathe underwater, no boosts to handling pressures and no talking to fish. You can’t go rescue dumb submarines, you still swim slower than any trained seal or dolphin, and cleaning the office fish tank doesn’t require swimming.

But think of the epic bathing you can accomplish. I’m talking FULL. BODY. SUBMERSION.

Followupquestion,

Finally, you could be 100% clean.

Magic force field ? Or some gaz or magic that disable, give pain or kill when aproaching or entering it, without anybody knowing particularly that "a gaz" is the problem; just that whoever enters get sicks as hell and cannot move anymore

(If want to have a reason why nobody never entered, but your players needs to be able to enter)

bionicjoey, in Deleted

Yeah. I'm autistic and so sarcasm can be hard for me to read/express in person, let alone in text form.

Here is the general guideline for when you need to use a sarcasm tag:

If your comment could be plausibly stated as genuine instead of sarcastic by someone reading your comment, then your comment needs to be denoted as sarcastic.

This is to say, if you're in a group chat with your friends and all of them are like-minded, then typing something sarcastic probably doesn't need a sarcasm tag, since no one in the group chat would plausibly type that comment as genuine. However, if you're in a more-or-less public forum and you type something sarcastically, it becomes far more likely that your comment could be typed out as a genuine stance instead of a sarcastic one, and therefore it is wise to make it clear that you are not one of those people.

It is possible, even in 2023, to craft a comment that is so obviously sarcastic that it does not need a sarcasm tag even when posted in public, but this is pretty rare-- most people are typing stuff that could easily be typed genuinely.

Troll, in How do pre-reddit influx lemmy members feel?
@Troll@lemmy.ml avatar

I’ve been here since the beginning of 2020, a few weeks ago I was regretting that this project wasn’t very popular so now I’m delighted to see this craze for Lemmy/Kbin and federated tools in general. I hope it will continue, welcome to all ^_^/ Power to the people.

Jakylla, in What's the mob policy on Emojis here on the fediverse?
@Jakylla@sh.itjust.works avatar

Please put emojis or pictures in your posts & comments ! (But please also avoid 4k sized pictues, most of lemmy instances have bad CSS (displaying nicely things) for the moment)

Magic can McGuffin any answer you need but it sounds like you want a non magic means to keep people away.

Have a guarded door, be it creature or armed guards. The room that is guarded is not the real room, just a place to hold private meetings. It's used on the regular to keep the focus on the guarded room.

The real room is in the town's bizarre. It's passed by all of the time and is curated by the most hated man. No one likes going to his shop. He's rude and his wares are over priced. Within his shop is the real room that is visited by the few who know.

Biff, in I need to survive for 3 days without pooping, and eating as little as possible. I can pee, but not very often. It can't take up too much space. What food do I pack?
@Biff@lemmy.world avatar

This is like some bizzaro 90's sitcom. "Quick, I need your help to not poop for 3 days! No time to explain!"

Criton, in What do you feel like life will be like on earth in 100 years?
@Criton@feddit.uk avatar

I'll be long gone and I have no kids by choice. Hopefully the human race will be extinct and the planet can recover.

Lifecoach5000,

Can I side step and ask how you feel about 20 years then?

Criton,
@Criton@feddit.uk avatar

I just want to take care of my little corner of the world. Take care of me and mine, have enjoyable experiences, make memories and try to avoid being evil.

I can't do much about the big stuff (other than vote). It's going to get worse before it gets better (if it ever gets better) but no point worrying.

Lifecoach5000,

I like your attitude and feel quite the same. I hope you have a prosperous life!

unsophisticated,

I like your attitude

What they wrote:

Hopefully the human race will be extinct

Yeah, right. Likable attitude.

Lifecoach5000,

Fair enough lol. I like his 20 year attitude specifically on face surface.

MortalWombat,

Big same. I've spent the last 30 years arguing (and voting) for sustainable policies and environmental regulations, but what little progress has been made is woefully insufficient. I did my best, but obviously humanity doesn't actually want to survive.

el_illuminacho, in Deleted

Stop caring about upvotes/downvotes. It's useless points anyway.

MrPumpernickel, in What do you feel like life will be like on earth in 100 years?

There is a great ~20 year old song where I'm from called Plus Rien. (Translates to Nothing Left)

Maybe not in the next hundred years, but the way things are going.. this song proves more accurate every time I listen to it.

Valmond, in What do you feel like life will be like on earth in 100 years?

Extreme longevity and good health, atomic precise manufacturing, if the climat didn’t go to shit we’d be quite well off IMO.

Extreme longevity and good health

Only to those who can afford it.
