    Gymnospermae are older than duodecuos trees, granpa. They were here first.

    Venat0r,

    Depends what type of pine and where in the world it is…

    betamark, in They're under the bed!

    Wow, I’m impressed. The way you depict the memory erasure is quickly interpreted by my eye. Thank you!

    Broken_Monitor, in Water? What's that? [ADHDinos]

    This comic is too damn relatable. I swear I don’t have ADHD but it sure is making me feel like I might.

    Stamets,
    @Stamets@startrek.website avatar

    Vast majority of stuff in the ADHDinos comics aren’t exclusive to people with ADHD. Often times they’re common place in a lot of people. It’s just that with ADHD the frequency is turned up to eleven and so is the difficulty in dealing with it.

    That being said, can’t hurt to check with a Doc.

    killeronthecorner,
    @killeronthecorner@lemmy.world avatar

    Is there anything a doc will do beyond a chemical solution?

    I’ve thought about it but I’m not interested in pills

    Orygin,

    My gf got laughed at when she talked to her practitioner about having ADHD… So ymmv I guess

    TrenchcoatFullofBats,

    SgtAStrawberry,

    Where I live you can get access to aids like time tables and similar depending on what you need. You can also get other types of help and support or just advice on how to handle and structure your days.

    soloner,

    You skip bathroom breaks to be productive?

    schmidtster,

    Don’t need bathroom breaks if you don’t stop for water.

    iheartneopets, in Wayward Birds Explained

    Never have I heard someone say they were bored of cardinals, even where they’re common; everyone gets excited when they see one around here :)

    RedWeasel,

    I agree. They are common where I live and I don’t usually see a lot of them, but they a beautiful birds.

    Theharpyeagle,

    It’s especially great that they aren’t migratory birds, so you get to see these fattened little red fluffballs all winter. They really look striking against the snow.

    Same with robins, they’re an incredibly common bird, but they are also so handsome.

    iheartneopets,

    Yes! I love seeing fat robins especially because their little red waistcoats make it so much more pronounced haha. They’re very cute, 10/10 bird.

    Norgur, in Water? What's that? [ADHDinos]

    Father of a 1week old with ADHD here. I have considered switching to IV nutrients every time my body went into sudden emergency shutdown from an acute lack of food and/or water for the last week...

    Devi,

    I was so confused how a 1 week old had ADHD then.

    Don't forget to look after yourself. Babies are hard work.

    Norgur,

    I tried several ways to phrase this so there would be no ambiguitiy... all sounded even weirder ;)

    GFGJewbacca,

    I’m also a new dad, caring for a 7 week old. I get that it’s hard, and I hear the kind of issues you’re dealing with. I hope you can care for yourself in the midst of all your kid’s needs. If you want to talk, I’m here.

    Norgur,

    Thanks mate! My wife and I always were a good team but we strengthed our bond during her pregnancy significantly, so I don't even need to look out for myself, she'll do that and vice versa. I'll send her to bed/eat/shower and take over completely to afford her that break she didn't even realize she needed and she'll do the same for me. Without this dynamic, those last days would have been immensely draining. The way things are, they've been a warm and snug experience for our little family <3

    EvilEyedPanda, (edited ) in They're under the bed!

    “I was watching late night infomercials, when one came on and said ‘forget everything you know about slipcovers,’ so I did, and it was a load off my mind. And then they tried to sell me slipcovers but I didn’t know what the fuck they were”

    If it’s magnetic resonance imaging, then if your magnetic resonance matches the MRI’s, you’ll just shatter like an opera singer breaking a crystal glass.

    punkwalrus,
    @punkwalrus@lemmy.world avatar

    I have shrapnel in my leg, it’s copper and brass, and I have had MRIs with no ill effects. Fucks up some CAT scans and xrays, but only if they are scanning that leg. It’s so small, though, that modern metal detectors don’t register it anymore.

    Viking_Hippie, (edited ) in Water? What's that? [ADHDinos]

    Just today, I was visiting my mom and the following exchange took place

    Me: dammit, I forgot I had to go to the bathroom

    Mom: must not really need to go, then

    Me: yes, actually. You see… explains how my brain works differently than hers for the 3rd time this month

    burgersc12, in Wayward Birds Explained

    Red Cardinal, Blue Jays, Yellow Finches, seems like some places have a whole rainbow of birds!

    So the moral of this comic is that you’re always more appreciated when you show up and contribute somewhere people aren’t expecting to find you in.

    For example, a certain Academy Award nominated actress, in the comment section of a niche tech forum.

    ripcord,
    @ripcord@kbin.social avatar

    But where will we find one of those?

    MargotRobbie, (edited )
    @MargotRobbie@lemmy.world avatar

    Maybe we can lure one out from the Hollywoods by promising her an Oscar this year.

    (And by telling her she has beautiful feathers.)

    moocow,

    Is this the real Margot Robbie, the actress? I demand proof

    MargotRobbie,

    That’s esteemed Academy Award nominated (and soon, winning) character actress Margot Robbie to you!

    FireTower,

    LemmyKnowsBest, (edited ) in Wayward Birds Explained

    I love it when I’m on a road trip and can get a photo of me next to the “welcome to this state” sign. It’s not an easy task. Rarely are those signs positioned in tourist photo-friendly places.

    Usually along a high-speed highway with no place to turn out and park. So you just zoom by it and wish you could have taken a picture.
