This is relatable. In my experience, the only way to prevent is to make it literally impossible to leave for the place without bonking into the thing. Like don’t put the thing next to the door, put it in front of the door.
For real. I have sometimes put important things on my jacket, and my jacket in front of the door. That works. And I still tend to pick up my jacket so the thing I was to remember falls to the floor because it somehow still doesn’t occur to me that I put my jacket on the floor in order to remember something…
My dog would do it. She’s evil. She has murdered many small animals and then uses their corpses as toys before eating parts of them and leaving the rest to rot.
She once found a nest of baby bunnies in the yard and slurped them all up like spaghetti as we watched in horror.
My boy caught a mouse once. He really worked for it too, he had little bits of moss stuck to his nose when I found him. When I told him it was time to go inside he just shook his head to kill it and headed for the door like it would just be okay to bring it in lol. Had to pry it out of his mouth.
I just keep rolling untill I fall asleep. Trying to sleep in a specific position is near impossible. Even the best one gets uncomfortable pretty quick. Only thing I try to avoid is sleeping on my right side as it seems to be the cause for my rhomboid pain
