Yeah I’ve actually lost faith in 100% of folks in 2024 who still think it’s a scam. I used to think it was just boomers, it’s not. Every climate change related post from NASA on their social media accounts is literally full of young people making fun of them for ‘lying to the public’ and how it’s all a hoax. There’s no depth to these people, we truly live in a society full of complete morons who will believe in a conspiracy theory because of a 5 minute badly edited YouTube video, but refuse to trust anything that is widely accepted in the scientific community because of their need to feel important, intelligent, and ‘in’ on something that the rest of the world isn’t in on.
the fellow students in school growing up that always blew off paying attention in school and disrupting class didn’t just disappear… sure i saw less of them when i wasn’t confined to those public grade school walls, but it’s been a harsh realization for me as I’m seeing them again as adults buying into and spreading the misinformation.
Consider the ingredients of your partner and tell me why you are offended that I replaced them with an angry honey badger in your bed last night. I’ll wait.
i like to make sequels every year or so. i’m currently on “liked songs 4”. it gives me the chaos of a liked songs playlist, but with the comfort that only recently liked songs will play. (i will never unlike a song)
This is my strategy too, except I make new playlists every January and seperate the songs by year. So I have 2017, 2018, 2019, etc playlists of songs that came out that year. Then I go through the songs from that year and add the absolute bangers to an ultimate playlist. I also never unlike a song.
When I was first developing my music taste I did this too. I had “songs I like 2018 edition”, “songs I like 2019 edition” then discovered Spotify and everything morphed into a singular “liked songs” playlist :D
But seriously folks, you can survive without Google Play Store. While it definitely is sometimes not easy and there are obstacles put in your way, after a certain time you learn to accommodate. And I have a peace of mind knowing that no one is selling my pictures to data foraging companies God knows where.
at this point you can get a pixel 6 (dunno about other models) and really easily unlock the bootloader and install lineageos, then with microg and aurora store you can install any apps you need from gplay, with an absolute bare minimum of proprietary code running on your phone and with most of the conveniences people expect.
it’s amazing how little how you have to sacrifice.
You remember how Harry chose the house he wanted to be in, and it’s canon, that the sorting hat ward isn’t definite? When I was buying my first tool, I wanted a Ryobi. But they didn’t have it in stock and they did have Makita on sale and the sales guy told me that would be much better for the same price. So after that I’m buying only Makita, to fit the rest.
