socsa, in Were this the ‘good ole times’ they always talk about?

Lemmy is just as much an information warfare platform as anything on Reddit. The Israel/Hamas coverage has confirmed that pretty conclusively.

InputZero,

Eh, talking about Isreal/Hamas/Palestine has been a sensitive topic for as long as I can remember. I wouldn’t be surprised if an argument broke out between two Catholics in a church on Sunday if they were talking about it. It’s an extremely devicive issue.

MonkeMischief,

Very true! Here, have a fake Internet point lol

Imgonnatrythis, in Japan is on its own wavelength.

Pretty f’d up we can’t all even agree on this. Between this and DST, humanity is just pretty hopeless.

Starglasses, in Employee helplines are only there to stop your employer getting sued

Totally haha. A thought: the meme format means the tape fixes the problem like a miracle. I think it would work better with an image like a bandaid on a decapitation 🩹💀

Shawdow194,
@Shawdow194@kbin.social avatar

True

But the meme does convey it pretty well. That flex seal is definitely a temporary fix and not nearly as effective as a true repair

Starglasses, (edited )

Oh ok! I see that it’s almost exactly like what I said about bandaid on a decapitation… ok it can’t temporarily fix that, but lol. I get it :)

It’s not fixing the broken glass, just covering it up

Brown_dude69, in Looking at you, Google and Unity.

Reminds me of reddit.

nexussapphire, in I wasn't in a hurry anyway

It probably wasn’t prime, that happens when the company selling doesn’t want to pay amazon to ship it through Amazon or doesn’t want to pay for shelf space in the Amazon warehouses.

Look on the upside at least you don’t half to pay up to 50% of your profit to amazon just to stay competitive.

Maybe we could use AI to generate new and original content?

Since that might produce too much content for anybody to read, upvote and engage with, we could cover the user side with AI bots as well.

If we do this right we could completely automate social media. Maybe one day you won’t even have to look at your phone because an army of bots is doing it for you.

BananaOnionJuice,
@BananaOnionJuice@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Someone that needs a topic for their CS dissertation could do this.

Setup their own Lemmy server and train an AI on the fediverse. It would be funny to see if the AI agent’s posts/comments converge.

CowsLookLikeMaps,

Fully automated luxury gay space Lemmy?

Why not take it further and just lock ourselves into pods with feeding tubes.

Which brand of pods would you recommend? 😂

Seems like there a couple of tech support communities already like that. Endless posts all made by different accounts from the same instance, constantly asking for help with Apple products or wifi 24/7.

Prunebutt,

Someone understood the nature of spam.

It makes sense to either go general to specific or specific to general. MM-DD-YYYY is neither.

JoJoGAH, in F#€k $pez

Organic ,non bot, actual real conversation, is not going to skyrocket. It’s going to grow like a real world thing. This is good imo

Guster,

So much agree on this. I also feel like there are comments on Reddit posted with the sole purpose of gaining upvotes. Here there is no need to do that so the content you do get is a lot higher level
