This is something my grandma would post to her knitting group and it would get one comment that says, “Like” because Herald doesn’t know how to like posts.
I had a similar situation with an employer. Went on mental health leave, came back to multiple brand-fucking new disciplinary actions, constant new barrage of changes, I disclosed my medical conditions and it got worse. Until I literally snapped. Couldn’t work, couldn’t function for 7 months after and I’m still not recovered.
And don’t get me started on what their messaging was about mental health.
Fuck all the talk, fuck not having room for humanity at work, fuck depression, and fuck bad things happening if someone’s brave enough to try and get help.
Had a bad situation with an employer that claimed to support people with mental health issues right in their job posting. They gave me more work by putting everybody else they wanted to get rid of on weekends and cut the amount of staff and made us all cover each other’s jobs. In a call center where each job took at least a month of training. We were given a day’s worth for each. Well I finally snapped after 6 weeks when I got literally yelled at by some vip for not knowing how to do a job where I wasn’t trained in. And it wasn’t like they weren’t given warning. I had been talking to them trying to tell them I’m too stressed out to do this. My punishment for trying to reach out for support was for them to cut my pay but not the additional tasks they forced upon me. I walked out on them immediately after they punished me. This was a place that was toying around with not paying us for bathroom breaks. And I’m pretty sure working here hurt my chances at other job offers because I’ve had several interviewers see that company in my resume and roll their eyes when they ask about it because they’ve seen so many burnouts from that place they didnt want to risk another one.
Fuck this stupid fucking world. Fuck everything. I’m ready to just quit. There’s nothing I can do to make my life enjoyable anymore. The game is rigged and they’re not even trying to pretend it’s not anymore.
Just remember...if you "quit", then they win. You have nothing left to lose, so rip that company off your resume and lie through your teeth. Do whatever it take to get that next job. They are all doing the same, so do it back out of spite. It's how I'm still going. Never underestimate the value of spite when it comes to your survival...
It’s even funnier if you’re arguing with them in another thread but are cordial in that one. There aren’t too many of us, we can’t afford to make enemies.
Yes, they have two date systems in common use. It's only the year that changes though. And there's no way to confuse the two, usually. If you write "2023" instead of "令5" it's pretty obvious. I suppose there is a potential for confusion if one just writes a two-digit year though.
Whenever their Emperor changes, the year starts with a new name(年号, which translates to name of year(s)). This time it’s 令和(reiwa). Before that it was 平成(heisei). It is very commonly used.
Nah. With binary, you can lose one hex digit AND the max year would be 2047 (11 bits year, 4 bits month, 5 bits day). What's not to like about hex anyway?
What I read was that it never happened in the old versions and it wasn't a bug in civ5, in that, it was a nod to the legend. But apparently Sid Meier said it didn't happen in the original games.
Thing is, it did happen in the earlier games and I doubt Sid programmed all the games himself. They just put his sexy face on them like the Nintendo Quality Control stamp.
If they're doing better than ever, then why are they trying to constantly hack through my ad blocker now in a desperate attempt to show me an ad one way or another? I'm always gonna be one step ahead. They lost the game before they started. But they still won't give up for some reason. That's a lot of resources for a company to spend on someone that will never give a shit and keep blocking the ads.
Full market saturation. They aren’t getting new customers, especially from that ad blocking I won’t pay for shit crowd. They’ll probably pull at least a few customers up a tier, and they’ll reduce compute costs booting the babies who won’t pay or watch ads.
It’s just common sense business. That’s how you make money.
You shitpost on the internet acting like you and Google are buddies and you're ok with your data being collected because you "understand how to make money and find value in youtube."
I'll access all the same content and not be ttracked. Luckily chumps like you will keep on clicking those ads and it'll be too much of a headache stopping people like me from blocking them.
Yup. Thatsthepoint.jpg. See what you did there? You don’t find value, you don’t want to pay, and you stopped. Imagine that. Instead of bitching to the void incessantly you summoned up some will power and stopped using the service.
Oh I’m not bitching, I’m enjoying an ad free YouTube without paying, while I do see value in the service, I don’t have money just laying around to throw ever so willingly at it, while I could spend it on a meal or two.
If I can get what I need for free then I’ll do it, if I can’t then I’ll move to something else.
Nah, my house is probably only 450k in that equation. A nice 2300 sq ft ranch with partially finished basement. The rest is in investments and small business.
Not bad for that age, if you have a mid-sized ranched that’s only worth $450k then cost of living must be next to nothing so ~$1.5m might last a couple years.
Not quite retirement money but in a better position then some.
There are two ways that would happen. One is with IP bans, and even then, there are still ways around it. And if they start doing that, they'll start to cut off legitimate users with dynamic IP addresses that change often. The other is by dropping ad supported services completely and moving to a fully paid model. And I doubt they have enough people who give enough of a shit to start giving YouTube actual money for the bullshit that's on there.
Like I said, they lost the game before they started. They will never shake off the freeloaders without seriously kneecapping their company.
Posted on a forum thread bitching about how folks are not going to use the service. The delusional logic here is way to high.
I think they are doing just fine booting the freeloaders. Even if they push you all to steal via piped that basically a free cache. Mission accomplished.
