I LOVE dogs, really, but after adopting 2 cats I just think they are very hard work. Still have a dog but he needs atetion all the time, gets sad, want to go for walks etc. Cats? If you try to pet them too much they bite you. Also, litter boxes
A lot of people try to raise and interact with cats like they do with dogs, but that’s not really the best way as they will react differently and everyone gets frustrated. A lot of people think that cats don’t like to cuddle and just want to be left alone which is completely wrong.
There is plenty of content on YouTube which helps to better understand how they think.
The thing with cats is that they just kinda know themselves and offer you the deal of “yeah these are the three nice things I like to do and the three annoying things I like to do and if that jives with you, we’ll work. Otherwise, I guess just let me back outside and I’ll go back to eating birds and shit.” So every cat owner is like “yeah sure he vomits in my shoes every 2-3 days so I just turn them upside down when I take them off but he likes to sleep on the couch beside me when I watch TV and that’s our special time, you don’t really need to get it.”
This is not a meme, but a reminder of a terrible time and this particular event. Post it in a history community, but not here. Why would we find something so sad funny?
Despite the rustled jimmies in this thread, I don’t really care what people post in a fucking ‘memes’ channel. However, you should know the caption does show up in sync and doesn’t make it any better. This might help clear things up:
The caption is there. But that doesn’t even matter. That isn’t the point. Point is the attitude towards the image, what it stands for and that it shouldn’t be used like this.
Using images of people suffering to make fun of a current situation is insensitive and disrespectful to the people who were suffering at the time. It also trivializes the situation and makes light of something that is serious and important. Essentially it isn’t ethical to use an image like this to make a point like yours.
It’s similar to someone posting a picture of a starving child and captioning it with “how I feel when I’m on diet.” It’s inappropriate, disrespectful and offensive.
Frankly, this post should be deleted for the same reasons.
Acronyms are not typically dependent on the pronunciation of the words for which their letters stand. Here's a brief look at how a few common acronyms would be pronounced if they were:
Those who say it with a hard G must also say JFEG using the same logic. I'm fine with someone saying it either way, it's been around so long that I think the choices tend to be regional (aka BBS era).
The file format is JPEG (or JPG). Its commonly pronounced “jay-peg”, but if we demand that GIF is a hard-G because of “Graphics”, then we must abide JPEG being pronounced “jay-feg” or “jay-pheg” because of “Photographic”.
I know, English is hard. It’s ok that you’re wrong, or to put it nicely, confidently incorrect.
JPEG lacks the ph (eff) sound because, well you know, there is no ‘h’ in JPEG and that changes the pronunciation rules. based on your argument, we’d also pronounce picture as ficture. Or penis as fenis.
So, a+ for effort, but F for accuracy.
Fun tidbit though. Person, penis, and peg, all follow different pronunciation rules because the consonants that follow.
I tried that once just because I had both, and they were both yellow. I can’t believe how nasty it was. It was one of very few of my creations that I had thrown out. I think the smushy and popping textures together wrecked my brain.
