Siegfried, in You liar!

Im still waiting for the last edit OP, dont leave us hanging

camelbeard,

I think it was 17:18 when the door lock finally opened. The very first time estimate said it should be ready at 16:10. So it was definitely a big lie.

Deestan, in They are too expensive and gimicky either way

Equally good ones without wifi crap are even more expensive I hate it all

yesman, in Yo Dawg, new Outlook just dropped

Motherfuckers laughing at this meme carrying a smartphone checking their Gmail.

Rentlar, (edited )

I have outlook, gmail, protonmail, Roundcube mail accounts but mostly managed via IMAP. Guess I get to laugh and cry…

jetsetdorito,

neidu2, (edited )

Mine is rooted and neutered. Something might leak through, but I’m not making it easy for them.

fossphi,

It’s not a binary thing. There’s steps

BCsven,

GrapheneOS is the answer. Apps can be sandboxed away from OS. No Gapps integrated into the OS. Camera disable button if you are really paranoid.

cyberpunk007,

The only thing I hated about that kinda thing is depending on the phone you lose the camera perks. If I install this on my pixel 6 pro, does everything function more or less the same? I don’t want to be taking shit photos after installing a rom

BCsven,

You can install the Google Pixel Camera app if you want the functionality they offer. Grant it access to network upon install, then grant camera, microphone, location, sensors, and access tp all storage or assign a storage space. Should work as you expect oyher than it doesn’t integrate with the GrapheneOS gallery app, and prompts you to install google photos. you can still access photos by opening the Graphene gallery.

pineapplelover,

Love the grapheneos representation on lemmy lol

Huschke,

I doubt the people you are describing are on Lemmy.

cyberpunk007,

Here I am. Doesn’t mean I’m OK with it either. Not enough time in the day to figure out another solution.

They all came back with the power of love, friendship and making the company some money.

AngryCommieKender,

It’s a meme reference

Gotta point out, that hasn’t been the Microsoft logo since Win7.

Gotta point out, that meme template has been around before then.

Ya got a problem with crusty old memes, kid?

The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time.

KingJalopy,
@KingJalopy@lemm.ee avatar

In my day kids respected their elder memes… They regularly shitposted them and people were grateful for those crusty memes.

pimeys,

Abe gets the upvote.

JustARegularNerd,

If you really want to be pedantic… that’s not even the Microsoft logo to begin with. Microsoft didn’t use the Windows logo for their own company logo, at least during that time period.

Oh, and that’s Windows Vista’s logo anyway.

abfarid,
@abfarid@startrek.website avatar

That’s fair, I should’ve said “That logo hasn’t been used by MS since Win7”. But it’s still the same logo, minus the backdrop.

MY_ANUS_IS_BLEEDING,

The meme itself must be a good 15 years old too

ExLisper,

No, I just made it myself. It’s brand new and shiny.

ExLisper,

Sorry, I think the last Windows I had installed anywhere was XP. I was like “which windows logo is that? should I look it up?” but then I was like “nah, fuck it”.

abfarid,
@abfarid@startrek.website avatar

They used to go for the Distort tool. Then, the Skew tool was all the rage. And now, they realized that Photoshop subscriptions are a ripoff and stopped using it altogether.

user224,
@user224@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

At least it’s recognizable. Windows 12 will probably be just a single blue square.

jubilationtcornpone, (edited )

“It’s a single pane window. A single pane of glass. It symbolizes the synergy between man and machine. Window 12 offers an enhanced user experience with greater simplicity and clarity. Also, we’ve revamped our mobile and iOT OS lines which we’re calling ‘Porthole 12’ and ‘Peephole 12’ respectively.” -Microsoft, Probably

thecrotch,

Microsoft doesn’t give things new names. It reuses the same name for a vastly different product to keep everyone confused. Outlook. Outlook (the hosted email service). Outlook express. Skype. Skype for business. Teams. Teams professional. Etc etc.

ConstantPain, in The machine is always broken

Even when it works, it’s still not ice cream.

son_named_bort, in Desperate to afford food

I like money, that’s the answer.

That’d be Woody. Buzz has rumble instead of a laser.

“all right, I’ll meet you in the middle. You still die but I promise not to eat your remains.”

joenforcer, (edited ) in The machine is always broken

It’s almost never broken. I have only been turned away for a broken machine one time ever, and McFlurries are more or less a monthly treat.

Sorry to break the internet meme, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t all that common.

Makanar56,

It’s probably locational and possibly the time of day. Since I understand cleaning them are a pain, certain locations may not prioritize it properly, or the downtime is always when you would go. The one by me for example has been down all of the 10+ times I’ve asked for something, but I know family members have gotten some ice cream there, so it’s not like permanently busted or anything.

BCsven, (edited )

The documentary on it explained that the cycles are timed to ensure proper cooling, and not warming too much for too long for sanitary reasons, so if an employee over filled the milk by a small amount the machine would sense the extra process time and default to needing a dump and clean. There was that raspberry pi device that would bypass that but for obvious reasons mcdonalds repair company lobbied against it.
