My RX580 is about to be seven years old, and I still haven’t encountered any game that is 1) too intense for it and 2) actually worth playing, considering usually only AAA games are resource-intensive and 99% of them are MTX trash
Similar situation. Still running my 980, and the only games it can’t run are some of the AAA titles. Not even because they are too intense but my card is only supported up to like VidX and they are now on Vid11 or 12.
Nah, but it isn’t that good either. It’s very much mediocre and would have to be as revolutionary as Bethesda claimed it would be to justify the ridiculous hardware requirements.
Space travel and exploration (space and ground, seemlessly), as well as space combat? Elite: Dangerous.
Story? Literally anything.
Combat? Damn near any shooter made in the last 20 years.
Dungeon looting? Just play Fallout 4, which has plenty of issues but none as bad as Starfield.
It’s not bad. It’s just not good at anything. I have no reason to play it over so many other games. It feels like it doesn’t know what it’s supposed to be, so it doesn’t do anything well or interesting.
In my opinion, having played both at launch, it’s a pretty similar experience, except I could see what NMS wanted to be. It wanted to be an exploration game. It just didn’t have any systems to make that interesting.
Starfield doesn’t want to be an exploration game I don’t think, but it does have things to explore but it never makes it interesting or necessary. It’s sci-fi, but that genre is supposed to be used as a lense to look at real-world issues, and it doesn’t critique anything except maybe saying pirates are bad. None of the companions are interesting enough to care about, and they’re almost all identical, so it isn’t about them. The looting gameplay is pretty bad where you just do the same five dungeons over and over, so that obviously wasn’t a priority. I just can’t think of a single thing it actually makes important to the experience, so I don’t know what it’s trying to be.
The Portable Network Graphics (PNG) format was designed to replace the older and simpler GIF format and, to some extent, the much more complex TIFF format.
And it stands to this day, with the exception of animation:
One GIF feature that PNG does not try to reproduce is multiple-image support, especially animations; PNG was and is intended to be a single-image format only.
No detail was too small for consideration in the authors’ quest for a near-perfect image format; yea, verily, even the acronym and pronunciation were major topics of discussion. The reason, of course, is the GIF format; some pronounce it with a soft G like giraffe, some with a hard G like gift, and no one really knows what they’re talking about. (For the record, the soft G is correct; it is how the author of the format pronounces it.)
“PNG” is always spelled* “PNG” (or “Portable Network Graphics”) and always pronounced “ping” in English, not “pinj” or “pee en gee” or any other multi-syllabic disaster. (For non-English speakers, the three-letter pronunciation is fine, however.)
Never heard anyone pronounce it ping, lol! P-N-G is a better pronunciation anyway. Less ambiguous, there’s already something called ping that is super common in computing.
GIFs have transparency, but not alpha blending so it would have jagged edges. When PNGs were first supported by IE, you had to do some crazy ActiveX scripting calls to make it work.
At the time, Microsoft had shut down the IE team since they had beaten Netscape in the browser wars. If it hadn’t been for Firefox, we would be stuck with that crappy PNG implementation!
Lemmings: In reality it’s class warfare. It’s the ultra rich vs everyone else.
Also lemmings: Fuck Landlords, fuck the brainwashed Republicans, fuck police, fuck liberals, quit trying to take my parks away, fuck the homeless, I should be able to live anywhere I want, you can’t own property!
Yeah, but they really deserve that tip. They work really hard, you see. Just the other year my landlord was hard at work promising to paint over a wall he ruined with repairs.
I bet he’s going to get it done any day now!
Gosh, maybe it’s because my last tip was too low… It’s probably my fault.
As a general rule, it’s always the renter’s fault.
And don’t underestimate the effort and work and emotional energy spent on postponing painting the wall, feeling bad about it, postponing it again, … they spent a lot of time and energy on that!
“Not only will America go to your country and kill all your people. But they’ll come back 20 years later and make a movie about how killing your people made their soldiers feel sad.”
Capitalism is capitalism. What you are really saying is that there are other factors at play that actually make the difference. I guess it’s the fact that in europe (and germany) the goverment governs the free market more. In the united states there is more of a free market and more ‘lobbied’ politicians keeping it that way (the dragon).
The Android 14 one basically is. Press and hold the rocket to launch, then you can go and find a sun, planets and other stuff there. The objects even have gravity! Not the most interesting, but nice to explore when you’re bored.
