For example Manna-hatta was renamed by Europeans (specifically the Dutch) New Amsterdam and later renamed again by Europeans (this time the English) as New York.
By the time there were officially “Americans” (i.e. after the Independence of the United States) the deed was already done.
It instantly turns me off any game. Much of my free time for gaming on the weekends is really when I’m doing less active chores, like laundry. If I can’t pause to change loads and fold, I can’t play that game.
I play a lot of souls likes and most don’t have pause. But they usually save your position if you go back to the main menu; so I pause by just quitting to the main menu.
It’s called UniversalPauseButton (no link because on phone, but you can Google it). It basically makes the PAUSE/BREAK button pause any active process. Press it again to unpause.
Will likely cause issues with online games, but if you’re playing offline or in single-player, like Witcher 3, Remnant, Baldurs Gate 3, etc it works wonders.

I remember when I was a kid my buddy and I were raving about some game because you couldn’t pause it. It was so cool. Emersive. You really had to make good decisions with you inventory, etc etc.
Today I’ll just turn the game off if it tries that bullshit lol

What does “the browser client” mean? I can see the gifs of the person you are responding to both when using Brave browser to access lemmy.world, and on my phone using Voyager.
Browsing from iOS right now. I checked from lemmy.world and found that it still wasn’t visible. It’s definitely an issue with ios safari as desktop Firefox rendered it without issue.
