85% after 2.5 years is not good. My car battery has guarante of 80% capacity after 6 years. 20% of range is a significant difference so I take car of my battery and don’t charge it above 80% if not needed. It’s the same with laptops. Current models can easily last 5-10 years but having only 50% of capacity after that time would be a problem. Sure, if you’re intending to throw it out after 3 years it doesn’t really matter but if you want to use it for as long as possible you definitely should take care of the battery. It’s pretty much the only part that degrades (except maybe keyboard).
By now most of you know that I’m by far the most reasonable person on lemmy. I’m basically real life Judiciary Pag. Well, maybe not the Very Relaxed part… But I’m very Learned and extremely Impartial....
We must recognize that we can’t solve our problem now until there is a radical redistribution of economic and political power… this means a revolution of values and other things. We must see now that the evils of racism, economic exploitation and militarism are all tied together… -MLK jr
The die-hard Trump supporters are too few in number to do anything
That’s not how civil war happens. What would happen is that elections results would be put in question (for example some states would challenge the results and there would be disagreement among legal experts as to what to do next), both candidates would start issuing orders and different parts of the military would start obeying different candidates. You weren’t that far away from this last time. Fortunately for you the military chain of command wasn’t compromised but the government was absolutely ready to abandon the democratic process and split. All that was needed was for Pence to commit to the plan.
Well known KDE developer Nate Graham is out with a blog post today outlining his latest Wayland thoughts, how X11 is a bad platform, and the recent topic of “Wayland breaking everything” isn’t really accurate....
Exactly. For 10 years the groupthink was that Wayland doesn’t offer anything interesting and X is just fine. Now suddenly everyone who’s still using X is stupid. Amazing what couple of memes can do.
Now you have catphishing, ransomwere, lot’s of different types of scammers and your credit cards can be stolen from some random e-commerce site. You also need to know what you’re doing.
You joke but the Catholic canon says that to check if someone is saint you have to pray to him and if miracle happens it means that this person can talk to god because only god can do miracles. And since he can talk to god it means he’s in heaven so his a saint. They actually have a pretend ‘scientific method’ they use for beatifications.
Very meh. I first episodes that followed the books more closely were pretty good but later they just remove all the good bits and what’s left is just not that interesting.
