Me with speed running explanations.

I don’t even give a shit about speed running. I just like hearing how people figure out weird ass glitches. Though most of the time, the explanation literally boils down to “they got extremely lucky.” Like the current world record for E2M3 in Quake.

I’ve been adopted by a stray in my apartment complex. Every time he sees me he sprints over and climbs up my pants to get pets. My dogs get jealous as they watch us from my bedroom window.

I never buy Driscoll fruit (particularly strawberries and blueberries) for this very reason. When I used to work at a grocery store, half of the time the Driscoll fruits would be rotten already upon arrival to the store!

There are plenty of self-picking strawberry farms around here anyway. I can guarantee I have the freshest strawberries if I pick them myself.

What hobbies help you minimize or avoid navigating commercialism?

By commercialism, I’m aiming at a mix of spending a lot and sifting through bloated business models (e.g. this or that accessory/equipment, microtransactions, etc.). Feel like many can relate to this sort of commercial fatigue, and yet it creeps even into hobbies where one tries to unwind....

None of my hobbies intrinsically help. The fact that I have ADHD and autism do. Commercialism’s psychoaddicitiveness doesn’t work on people with broken brains.

They can even have their own special UI! The way they talk about reconfiguring panels makes it seem like you can build your own UI on the fly, especially the time Worf yelled at a dude who put the con controls in the engine room of the defiant and didn’t use the standard layout.

This is a thing that existed even when DS9 was being filmed; taking handwriting and converting it to printed fonts? It wasn’t as on the fly IRL, but by the 24th century I’m sure it would be perfect where you could write by hand and instantly have it transformed into print.

I also know that they have used real life fruits and veggies that look super weird as stand-ins for alien fruits and vegetables.
