Lemmy: “I want my removable batteries and headphones jacks!”
Manufacturers: “Are you willing to pay more because nobody else wants that and there’d be extra engineering costs to keep it to spec on things like water resistance?”
Lemmy: >:[ proceedes to buy it anyways and complain about it being so much bigger than other phones “I don’t have giant hands!”
Shoes ruined the connective tissue in your feet. It’s the unfortunate way most people end up needing orthotics.
Everyone reading: start stretching and strengthening your feet, go barefoot where you can. Foot pain affects everything above it and you don’t want to be the person who can’t walk 100ft without their special shoes (which themselves are amazing since they can actually treat these issues at all, before anyone thinks I’m just anti-everything).
Alexander Graham Bell. How can the guy who invented the telephone be overlooked you ask? It’s actually pretty low on the list of his (yes this is subjective) coolest achievements. His Wikipedia page is a blast.
The ol’ Brock effect, a character who’s job 90% of the time was to tell the audience what was going on. More forgivable in a kids show, used to happen way too much in more adult shows too
I like how in JJK it’s a chance to create variation in power levels while also allowing an in-universe reason to expo-dump about a character’s power.
It makes a shonen trope feel like these genius characters aren’t just giving away all their tricks for shits n giggles. But then sometimes we just get a total lack of explanation and that’s fine too because it’s more fun, and the character doesn’t need to (cough Sukuna)
Similar to the recent question about artists where you can successfully separate them from their art. Are there any artists who did something so horrible, so despicable, that it has instantly invalidated all art that they have had any part in?
I think you missed their point. They explicitly said that you can at something is a good product and just not buy it because fuck that company. Same point with artists, they can be talented shitbags, we avoid them for the shitbag part, no other reason.
Because it’s not needed outside the eastern US. The vast majority of land around me is public and anyone can go out. Right to roam would just give me the right to trample through someone’s property when there’s plenty of public land to go around it with, which is what right to roam usually entails anyways.
This is genuinely a states issue and not something federal.
You don’t seem to understand that my house, my town, and the majority of my state, are massive amounts of public forest. I have every right to wander and camp, as long as I’m not squatting (which is it’s own mess of an issue where what counts “permanently inhabiting” an area), anywhere in that public forest.
Why would my state govt have any reason to enshrine a right that would just make more people trespass because they don’t understand the law? Those that follow that law would then have nothing change.
This is why I say it’s a states’ issue. This won’t be the same across the entire US.
