nxdefiant,

I genuinely don’t understand this question. What “that” are you referring to, what “it” are you referring to, who’s “they”, what’s “normal” for “they”?, and what “it”, again.

ha! That’s excellent. I was not in a position time-wise to watch DSC S1 when it actually aired, so I missed all these shenanigans. In retrospect it’s probably the best trek to binge (which I did) since many episodes feel more like parts of a movie instead of being self contained. I’m a fan of all trek, even Enterprise. :D

nxdefiant,

Perhaps he is addressing the jokes directly.

nxdefiant,

Mask of the Phantasm Joker, excellent vintage.

nxdefiant,

Corps can’t own houses

People can only own a few (say, 2) houses (Marriage, death, inheritance, etc. This makes things easier in the long run).

Multi tenant buildings must be majority owned by a tenant co-op, where all tenants have equal say in all building related things and share in the profits This makes sure landlords can’t raise rent without convincing the tenants that it’s worth the price, incentives the tenants to either maintain the property or hire professionals, and makes their rent an investment in their property, just like a home owner

I’m sure there’s holes all over this plan, but I (and some friends) have put thought into this one a bit.

Oh fuck, alternate timeline where Hitler didn’t test the pill out on the dog first.

That for nature to decide!

Today: Be faster than your prey!

Tomorrow: Have endothermic heat regulation so that you survive the asteroid impact that’s going to blot out the sun!

After they were actually American, they resorted to “What it was called by the people who lived here first, but pronounced wrong”

gaff -> place

gaffer -> place holder

gaffer’s tape -> holds things in gaffer’s place

not rocket surgery.

nxdefiant,

All the Me clones: Sokath, his eyes opened.

nxdefiant,

pretty sure admiral Janeway gives Captain Picard orders to Romulus in Insurrection, and that sounds as something dammit.

nxdefiant,

I already know people who would marry their cell phone if it had a wet hole.

oh hai, It’s me, the most venomous snake in the world

Edit: I have accidentally spread a non truth. That snake isn’t ultra deadly, (although it is still venomous), but this one is.

Look at it. It looks mildly uncomfortable in this social situation.

Using food as the analogy:

Food…Code

Kitchen…Dev Environment (IDE, PC, etc)

Serving…Deploying

ok good so far

When I’m done with code I’m not going to deploy yet I commit and store it on a branch in git.

When I’m done making food that I’m not going to serve yet, I store it in a fridge or pantry.

When I need external code, I grab it from GitHub. When I need ingredients, I grab them from the grocery store.

So I think Food Storage, is the closest analog to git. I have local storage (pantry, fridge) that I can use to store food I have acquired.

Which would mean the grocery store is the closest analogy, but not a restaurant. Or maybe a grocery store with a restaurant.

nxdefiant,

I bet he got the eye that leaks blood instead.

nxdefiant,

awww, sounds like the relationship couldn’t take the pressure.

Now imagine what it was like for the guy who took over his old job in New York on that day.

nxdefiant,

America should be Eevee, because there are so many opportunities for variation.

nxdefiant, (edited )

Also that guy should drink some water, he’s definitely dehydrated. Maybe he didn’t elaborate because he passed out.

nxdefiant,

I’m Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite comment on lemmy.
