themeatbridge,

Whoever has 212-Fuck-Off has been getting my phone calls forever.

themeatbridge,

Also so that phones require more frequent replacement. Usually the battery goes first. It doesn’t hold a charge or undervolts and slows down the phone. They want you to buy a new phone every two years.

themeatbridge,

If any children are near this person, you should report this to the police.

In chemistry, a Salt is just a molecule with a positive ion and a negative ion that results in a molecule with no charge. We call NaCl (sodium chloride) “salt” or “table salt” but really it’s just one kind of salt.

CaCl is also a salt, but it has a calcium ion instead of a sodium ion.

Salts tend to break into their ions in water, and might make the water more acidic or basic. Often, the additional ions will lower the freezing temperature. That’s why calcium chloride is popular for road salt.

themeatbridge,

It might be more accurate to show Hamas raping and dismembering a few hostages before Israel enters the picture, but otherwise, yeah.

themeatbridge,

Why would 50 be perfect? 50 is fully dressed in regular clothes. You can wear a jacket. You can wear a heavy sweater or a blazer.

themeatbridge,

Would you give away the spare tire for your car just because somebody asked you for it?

I mean, yeah. A spare is for emergencies. If someone needed my spare, then they can have it. We’ll replace it later. Ideally, they would pay for it, but I’m not so heartless as to haggle with a person in crisis.

But this guy doesn’t need my spare. He wants my spare because he doesn’t have one.

What is Something Scientific that you just don't believe in at all?

EDIT: Let’s cool it with the downvotes, dudes. We’re not out to cut funding to your black hole detection chamber or revoke the degrees of chiropractors just because a couple of us don’t believe in it, okay? Chill out, participate with the prompt and continue with having a nice day. I’m sure almost everybody has something...

themeatbridge,

It’s entirely confirmation bias. The crazies come out, must be a full moon. It isn’t? Oh, then it’s just a bad day. It is a full moon? See, I told ya. Full moon and no crazies? Didn’t even notice.

themeatbridge,

Sometimes, people just get better. Your mood affects your heart rate, your blood sugar, your mobility even. Thinking you are getting better helps you get better. This isn’t controversial, the placebo effect has long been understood and accounted for in experimental design.

themeatbridge,

Same goes for home repair. Learn to spackle and patch drywall, change a doorknob, install a toilet, snake a drain, and replace a capacitor or heating element in your hvac system. These are things anyone can learn to do with minimal tools and inexpensive parts, but will cost hundreds to hire a professional.

themeatbridge,

It’s a beautiful song, and there are some versions with cleaner lyrics for the family or work Christmas party.

themeatbridge,

It’s worth mentioning that we can’t “see” any exoplanets at all. We know they are there by the gravitational lensing that occurs when a planet passes in front of the star it orbits. Once we calculate the position and orbit, we can track the planets and listen for any radio waves or radiation that would indicate life. We are also getting better as guessing the chemical composition of the planets, but it’s not like we can scan the surface for plants and animals.

There are too many commas and the phrasing is awkward. The first and last two commas are grammatically incorrect.

themeatbridge,

It was the victims asking. VW doesn’t need a fee to process a liability waiver, and VW was fine with the police paying the fee to gain access.

themeatbridge,

Terminator 2 trailers spoiled the twist that Arnold is the good guy.

themeatbridge,

Maybe we could all wear our shoes on our hands and sing showtunes in the airport parking lot.

What the fuck are you talking about?

themeatbridge,

Depends on the location, but there are a few different strategies for trains in cold weather.

themeatbridge,

If AI destroys us, it will be a result of human stupidity.

themeatbridge,

Many many years ago I modded a few small reddit subs, and it was a horrible job. You’d set up these rules, and some tween edgelord d-bag would test you to see how much they can push. Some comments deserve an insta-ban with no warning and no debate.

I don’t know what happened to OP, and plenty of mods let the tiny amount of power inflate their heads past the point of reason. But I think of modding like I think of parenting. I’m not going to criticize someone else’s methods, because I’m sure as shit not going to do it for them.

themeatbridge,

Except when I am right, I’m not going to stop arguing just because you don’t want to change your mind. That attitude is how we ended up with Reagan. Why should we accept that stupid people can end the argument by pretending their opinions are valid?

themeatbridge,

Yes, fuck Nestle, but also fuck Hershey. Nestle finds new and innovative ways to be evil, but Hershey is just old-fashioned slave labor and anticompetitive market capture.

themeatbridge,

And there’s nothing wrong with dual fuel. It still uses far less fuel, most of it in extreme cold weather where a heat pump stops working.
