Not exactly what you’re thinking, but Moral Orel dabbled in this. It was made by the guy you probably know as Starburns from Community. who provides the voice of Mickey Mouse, but you might know him better as the guy from the “this guy fucks” meme.

Edited because I confused two Greeks.

themeatbridge,

Oh, I assumed it meant like no upper bound. “She’s the best basketball player, no cap.”

I haven’t tried to use it, but I guess I was close enough to understand what they were saying.

themeatbridge,

Bossa Nova!

Chevy Nova?

themeatbridge,

Of course you can be a conservative Communist. Most of China is both communist and conservative.

Ultimately, you can call yourself whatever you want.

What is Something Scientific that you just don't believe in at all?

EDIT: Let’s cool it with the downvotes, dudes. We’re not out to cut funding to your black hole detection chamber or revoke the degrees of chiropractors just because a couple of us don’t believe in it, okay? Chill out, participate with the prompt and continue with having a nice day. I’m sure almost everybody has something...

themeatbridge,

That’s the fundamental problem with everything, though.

themeatbridge,

We do. But if you were aware of it, it wouldn’t work.

The only difference between a full moon and a new moon is how much light it reflects towards the earth. The moon is still there. If there were some sort of magnetic or gravitational effect on you while you slept, the effect would be the same whether the sun was shining on the side you can see or not.

themeatbridge,

If you leave them out in your car on a hot summer day, the wrapper is basically that weird alien plant sample.

themeatbridge,

Electric heaters may actually cost more in electric bills than you would spend on heating. It depends on the type of heating and the size of your space, but something like natural gas might cost less to keep the whole house at 65 degrees, rather than trying to warm a single room from 45 degrees with a space heater.

themeatbridge,

Let’s be real, he ain’t visiting most of the houses. China and India, Indonesia, Pakistan, are mostly non-Christian, and then there’s a lot of poor people that Santa seems to skip over most years.

themeatbridge,

I do, too, but my kids like to sing the songs they like at their elementary school, my office has an HR department, and Great Aunt Linda has flashbacks when she hears the line “You’re an old slut on junk.”

themeatbridge,

I’d also point out that we’ve nearly wiped ourselves out several times, and we’re headed towards making our planet incompatible with life. If the conditions for life exist AND life evolves to be sentient AND the sentient life develops communication AND the communication fosters cooperation AND the cooperation leads to technology AND that technology allows the life to survive the vastness of space AND the technology allows for interstellar travel, all that progress could end with a meteor or a virus or a particularly strong solar storm that blows through the magnetosphere and takes our atmosphere with it.

The conditions for sentient technological species exist on earth, and humans are the only ones even close to surviving in space. Dolphins, octopodes, dinosaurs, corvids nothing else is even sharing arbitrary knowledge yet. For that to even happen, we’d probably all need to be dead.

themeatbridge,

Yeah I abandoned reddit when they cut off third party apps. I’m sure they don’t miss me, but I think the exodus killed the vibe. Lemmy reminds me of the early days of reddit.

themeatbridge,

Had a teacher one time draw a grid on her whiteboard with a space for each student, and she asked us to place our disks with our projects on the board with a magnet (so we wouldn’t lose them). The school had recently gotten rid of the old dusty chalkboard, and was really enamored with her new whiteboard and showing off her fridge magnet collection.

Luckily, someone pointed out why that was a bad idea before anyone did it, and she quickly changed her mind.

themeatbridge,

And the peculiar thing is this, my friends…

themeatbridge,

Nobody can replace Clancy Brown. Just give him the role again.

themeatbridge,

I’m really not. I’m using appliances in my examples. If your toaster had a name and a personality and you had to ask it to make you toast every day, you’d probably recognize it if it showed up 30 years later, even if it was now gold instead of gray.

themeatbridge,

The poop doesn’t go back into the asshole.

themeatbridge,

Sorry, but that’s crap. Questioning the credibility of a liar is not automatically fallacious reasoning or an ad hominem. Attacking their character instead of arguing against their points is an ad hominem fallacy. Pointing out the consistency of lies from a single source and then extrapolating out to question the validity of future statements of fact is rational, logical, and reasonable. It’s perfectly valid to label a liar when they repeatedly tell lies, as long as you can support the label by proving they are lying.

themeatbridge,

Yeah, I was gonna say “guillotines” but basically the same idea. At the very least, we’d have to make bribery illegal, but that’s not going to happen while bribery is legal.

themeatbridge,

I’m often wrong. When someone shows me in a disagreement I’m wrong, I change my mind.

themeatbridge,

Across the board, I feel like there’s more bots, more spam, and more creative writing trying to pass for real stories. It was always there, but the mods and the tools in my app helped hide it from me and made the experience better. Now, those are more or less gone.

themeatbridge,

Thanks, fixed.

Scotus judges won’t be assassinated because the violent terrorists support them.
