people are rebuffing the criticism already.

heres the main advantage imo:

no messy system or leftovers. some programs use directories all over the place and it gets annoying fast if you host many services. sometimes you will have some issue that requires you to do quite a bit of hunting and redoing things.

docker makes this painless. you can deploy and redeploy stuff easily and quickly, without a mess. updates are painless and quick too, with everything neatly self-contained.

much easier to maintain once you get the hang of things.

which side is really refusing negotiations: the ones getting armed by the biggest military power in the planet, with the intention of ethnic cleansing, or the ones getting their country leveled fighting with improvised bombs?

  • Wayland breaks in-home streaming: Not familiar with this, so will assume true.

False. Sunshine works perfectly on Wayland, and last I checked Steam’s in-home streaming works fine on AMD/Intel, it’s an nvidia driver thing.

Cats cant pronounce that tough, so it has to count all of those in a socialist’s name.

In other news have you seen the latest royal wedding? So beautiful and glamorous, makes me feel blessed to have monarchs ruling over us!

Favourite FOSS Torrenting Client for Linux that has a VPN killswitch?

I’m a long-time Transmission user but I just learned that VPN killswitches are a thing (how did it take me so long!?). I would like to try another client which has this feature in case I forget to launch my VPN client before opening Transmission. Does anybody have any recommendations? Deluge? QBittorrent? Or any others?...

umbrella,

qbittorrent can do this, and its what I use.

not sure if its the best nowadays but it works really well for me.

I don’t judge the previous generations for being poisoned. It is just going to be microplastics for us and we don’t even really know what it can do to us.

Fuck their entitlement though.

Random thought: Windows is largely successful because of Piracy

Windows as a software package would have never been affordable to individuals or local-level orgs in countries like India and Bangladesh (especially in the 2000’s) that are now powerhouses of IT. Same for many SE Asian, Eastern European, African and LatinoAmerican countries as well....

yup ADOBE is exactly the same.

they do it on purpose for the exact same reason you are mentioning.
