Soak dried Porcini or Shiitake mushroom in a bowl of warm water for about 20 min (can boil the mushrooms if fresh). The mushrooms then can be used as an ingredient to a variety of recipes but more importantly, the bowl of water is now an umami bomb, and can be used as a broth or seasoning to add a ton of flavor to a bunch of dishes (pasta sauce, soup, stir-fry…)
Porcini in particular has an earthly, nutty taste and can be used to create complex sauces with a “beefy” taste.
I think our lack of vitamin C production is a feature and not a bug because we basically can’t eat too much of it. But animals that produce it like rats can get cancer from eating too much.
I learned to make home made chicken soup from scratch a while back and it’s the best. Lots of work, but worth it, especially when it’s cold or rainy.
The secret is adding chicken feet (about 1 lb per ~1.75 gallons of water) to the broth. It adds so much collagen, the soup is thick and delicious.
I like to also add parsley, carrot tops, a bay leaf, and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with roasted chicken bones to the broth as well. Pressure cook for an hour, or simmer for a day.
Strain the broth, add yukon potatoes, carrots, chopped onions, garlic, rosemary, thyme, sage, kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper. Pressure cook for another hour or simmer for two (or until potatoes are soft…).
Once done, add roasted chicken meat, and lightly simmer with fresh mushrooms and slowly whisk an egg in. Serve over cooked quinoa, topped with freshly chopped basil, cilantro, and/or green onions.
I like this one. I’ve been hoping for some host-your -own AI models that I can dump into a system with a bucket of TPUs and a decent GPU for processing and get my own version of something like chat GPT at home then train it on the entire collective works of documentation and help articles about the software I usually do support for so it can act as a defacto repository of “natural language” chat/search for troubleshooting.
Boobs just stay full and up, despite aging, breastfeeding, etc. if we are going to have periods, at least make them painless. Cells just shut down cancer every single time it starts, making it obsolete. You wouldn’t get out of breath at the top of a staircase/big hill if there’s anyone nearby.
Easier to just make them a lot smaller. Other primates nurse without the extra fat in the boobs. But I like the idea of much more resilient skin, it should bounce back endlessly. No reason for it to get fragile or lose tone, sagging achieves no purpose. Can we fix acne and rosacea with this patch, too?
Beans and rice, or a fried egg over rice. Good filling add a few cheap veggies and you have a pretty banger meal. The egg and rice is a go to lunch for me tbh because I just like it that much.
