Steps out of time machine … world is still falling apart

This is what it feels like when you step out of the time machine … and now you’re confused as to what time period to go back to or stay in.

Imgonnatrythis,

Take me. Please.

I’m glad that the only gacha that entered normie sphere was Genshin, with all the negative attention it got I wonder how people would react to second job ones like Fate GO and Granblue.

It’s great that Blue Archive is impenetrable.

KuroiKaze,

I think Grand blue is fairly well known in the US because of their expansion into other game types. Plus the anime. The fighting game is marvelous.

I’ve touched sprayed produce before just for the grip. 🥴

aulin,

The what now? I haven’t seen those since the early '90s.

I_LOVE_VEKOMA_SLC,

They’re still in use everywhere I’ve shopped

Filthmontane, in If only it was like that

It’s the perfect temperature for brine though

Aux,

Depends on a brine. If it’s for raw meat, I’d lower it to 4°C. If it’s for vegetable fermentation, I’d bump it over 16°C. Actually I don’t know what 50F is good for. It’s 10°C, just a miserable temperature.

Filthmontane,

But if you were a brine solution, you’d be feeling great at 50°F

Aux,

I don’t have an imagination.

TechLauren, in Why is this so hard

One of the best life tips I’ve ever gotten was from some random stranger as I desperately struggled with one of these things: Most times if you slide one edge up and one edge down it pops right open even with super dry skin. Not sure why this works when sliding the halves sideways does not but it dies!

Perhapsjustsniffit,

You can do this between your fingers as well. Just use a motion like you are snapping your fingers just more gentle.

My friend flipped when the first ever acknowledgement of Mistborn outside it’s own books was Kelsier as a guest character in Fortnite. It was like targeted harassment. I like Mistborn too but it didn’t bother me.

Weird that such an ancient rule, purported to be efficient and sufficient, should seize one’s conscience and dash them from the sovereign heights of their ideas, making them forfeit any claims to proper spelling.

I await your reply at your leisure.

captainlezbian,

I just finished the 200 hours of audiobooks because my wife got me into it. Now I’m just sitting here patiently for my next dose from the remaining 300

Lightfire228,

This comment chain caused me to start reading Elantris

I’m gonna read all of the Cosmere in publication order (I’ve only read Stormlight Archive so far)

TheActualDevil,

Oh boy. I made the jump from SLA to (kinda) publication order. Going from his most intricate series to his first published book was almost jarring. I still liked Elantris though.

Personally, I read through close to publication order, but grouped series together. Well, I guess it’s really just Mistborn and maybe Emperor’s Soul with Elantris, but those last ones aren’t actually in the same set, just the same planet.

atkion,

Holy shit I think I blocked this one from my memory. Seriously, now big could the overlap between mistborn fans and fortnite players possibly be?

TheActualDevil,

It’s because the author is friends with one of the lead guys over at Epic in charge of the game. They cycle through so many characters that they just start asking their friends for ideas I guess.

    casmael,

We can sight a 1991 study by Hammett and Hetfield which concluded that ‘nothing else matters’, therefore we must conclude that something matters.

Syrus, in That escalated quickly 😬

I’m just here to plug www.reverso.netIt’s a really great language learning app powered by (just trust me bro) A.I. It’s an amazing app really and it sold me on what A.I. can do.

    clothes,

The homepage makes me think that it’s a translation tool similar to DeepL. Is that the part you’re recommending?

    Syrus, (edited )

Never heard of deepL. I just found reverso after duolingo started feeling like a chore. I tried looking for a new app to learn languages and reverso really pulled through, it actually just gives me common phrases i’m interested in. I’m finding it easier to learn the things i’m looking for.

Edit: after looking into it i might have to give deepL a shot aswell.

I miss this type of shit from early ufc days… Like they used to just put muy Thai vs karate masters and it was interesting as hell to see. I get why it happened but now it’s all mma vs mma… Not as fun imo.

Edit- I’m remembering seeing a few sumo dudes too. I’m thinking this was the 90s

    Rusty,

Yeah I remember as a teenager I rented VHS of UFC 4, 5, 6 and 7 and it was the best thing I ever watched. I was trying to find the first 3, but it was hard to do in early 90s

    smokin_shinobi,

Pretty sure they are free on YouTube. This was a Pride event though, Melvin Manhoef vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama.

    jpreston2005,

    SwallowsDick,

Body temp is 98.6° Farenheit. Water boils at 212° F, if I recall correctly. That’s 100° Celsius.

Aaaaand I didn’t get the job.

    Kase,

I remember applying online for work study jobs as a freshman. Every single application required me to provide three references, but I could only give two (maybe that sounds weird, but just take my word for it lol). I ended up just filling the third with N/As, except they had to fit the input requirements so it was weird stuff like “notanemailaddress@empty.com”. I put a note in the comments at the end to explain it, but I only heard back from two of the dozens of positions I applied for, and I couldn’t help but think that was a reason. But idk, what else was I supposed to do? ಠಿ_ಠ

It all worked out tho, and I absolutely love the job I have now. And thank fuck, I’ll have no shortage of references next time. Thanks for reading if you got this far lmao.

    petrol_sniff_king,

I like the job I have now, too, but I barely got it. If I ever want to leave, I have no idea who to ask to be a reference.
