Of course. And no worries. I know it’s a niche joke. Buckle up it’s a long one. Many public libraries, at least in the US, use the Dewey Decimal System (000-999) to organize their nonfiction books. The gist is that Mellville Dewey is problematic for many reasons, but for this example you have to know that when organizing books, Dewey’s best practice is that known hoaxes are categorized and shelved right along with the nonfiction books in the same category. For example the book 1421 claims that America was discovered by the Chinese in year 1421. This book is shelved right along the rest of American history in 945.05. However, the 000’s is the “contested knowledge” which has ghosts, UFOs, Bigfoot, etc. I feel that moving books like 1421 into 000s it lets librarians contextualize books by essentially saying “we think this book is as true as ghosts.”
Really? How? Keg and c02? Do you add anything, like citric acid? Im a home brewer, I’ve got a kegerator set up with 3 kegs. I want to do one with carbonated water some time
I drink 50% regular water, 50% herbal teas. Never drank sodas, if you’re not used to them they taste far too sweet. I used to drink a lot of coffee, but I have quit caffeine completely, with 1 exception. I drink 1 cup of coffee the day after my night shifts, because this helps me feel ok that day. If you don’t drink coffee regularly you notice two things when you do: 1. it’s very very bitter. 2. the effect of caffeine is really quite strong. I feel like I’m on drugs that day. After quitting coffee I got a little bit bored with just water, I missed drinking something warm, so I started with herbal teas. I now have a large collection of herbs and I started to appreciate all these different tastes.
I’ve been reducing my sugar intake and recently fully quit caffeine. I was never big on sodas but I recently had one at a work lunch because it was the only option available and it was shocking how overly sweet it seemed
My kid is obsessed with the Mario sets. Unfortunately almost none of them have physical instructions, so you need to use the LEGO Mario app.
Sometimes I will find him going through the instructions on the iPad for sets we don’t even own. He just likes watching it get built and doesn’t know YouTube is a thing yet.
Hold on to these days for as long as you possibly can. Like 8 hours a day my T.V. is full of children yelling at each other while they play with toys while my kids stare at it, surrounded by all the toys we bought them that they don’t play with.
So… you get room service? Like… how far do these workers stay from these rooms? Can they see you pee and take a dump? Where do you clean yourself? Do you get a refund if it rains? Is a simple hotel room somewhere nearby cheaper than this gourmet outdoor experience?
I think you skipped the “aware”. If so, then I must argue that I don’t know enough about the topic, and since I don’t know then no body else knows and if they say they do it’s a conspiracy! So there.
What do you want him to do? Israel is a major military partner and is one of the only semi-sane governments in the area.
I get the disdain for Israels tactics, their risk to civilian calculations are well out of wack. They need to stop the settlements shit.
But, what do people really want him to do? We do not need to go to war with Israel, all that’s going to do is put Israeli lives at extreme risk. Most Gazans have started supporting Hamas (apnews.com/…/israel-hamas-palestinians-opinion-po…) and Hamas has proven that they don’t care about Israeli civilians.
What is it people want from him, just to virtue signal? Don’t get me wrong, I’m disgusted by Isreal’s conduct, but there isn’t anything he can do that would do anything more than virtue signal.
Imagine saying that a genocidal apartheid state is “one of the only semi-sane governments in the area”. Meanwhile, US support for everything Israel has been doing since it was formed is the sole reason for Israel being what it is today. The only thing US brings to the world is horror and suffering.
It’s pretty obvious what genocide Joe should do. He should pack up and leave. It’s that simple. Instead, this senile sack of shit is dragging the world in tow WW3 right now. US and Israel deserve everything that’s coming to them.
The problem with your argument against Israel is that everyone around them is so much worse. None of the countries around them respect any form of human rights, and some of them (including Hamas) actively want to try and commit their own genocides. This much was obvious given how Hamas fighters acted on the Oct attacks (I think it should be common knowledge that they did target civilians as apposed to just military targets, however here is a taste [www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ch6T9oR6tro]).
“The only thing US brings to the world is horror and suffering.”, this should be an obviously hyperbolic statement. What about World War II? Are you not saying that the U.S. at least brought some good by fighting the Nazi’s.
“It’s pretty obvious what genocide Joe should do. He should pack up and leave”. First of all, it is abhorrent to say anyone should do any sort of genocide. I know you likely didn’t mean it like that, and I don’t want you to think I’m trying to nit pick. I just want to encourage people to be careful with their words.
My second point on that quote, is that your missing the point. Have a little empathy. Regardless of how effective it would be at curbing Israelis actions in Gaza, this would have severe ramifications on civilians. Despite our shared thoughts on Israel, withdrawing US troops would likely both do nothing to curb Israels attacks on Gaza (Israel has a long history of operating fine without the US [2]) and it would only put Israeli lives at risk due to the bombing campaigns conducted by groups like Hamas.
This would only be cool if you’re somehow guaranteed zero people/predators or cameras in a large enough radius that you won’t ever be seen or attacked by an animal. Fucking under the stars on a real bed sounds pretty cool. But there is a building in the background. I would be too paranoid that someone is watching with a telescope
I would trust everything you read on Google. While Switzerland probably does have some wolves and bears realistically you’re never going to encounter one.
Me 32, i dont have a fucking clue of what i want for the rest of my life. Maybe those couples that married in their early 20s wanted to explore together what they wanted in life. Good for them.
I understand the roots of marriage, but I want a partner who would be ok with parting ways in the future. We live once, why do we have to commit to 1 person for most of it? Things I enjoyed 5 years ago I don’t care for now. Tastes change.
Marriage isn’t for everybody, and that’s okay. As long as you aren’t stringing partners along who are looking to get married when you already know that you aren’t, then your choice doesn’t seem to be hurting anybody.
I’m 35 and married. Sure, tastes change, but my wife and I chose good partners in each other; we won’t hate each other or get irreparably sick of each other, we make a great team, and we understand each other’s limitations and are mature enough to ask for help. We let each other in. There is security and stability in marriage. I’m not great at meeting new people, so not having to go on another first date again is a huge relief for me. Making a good first impression is fucking exhausting. In contrast, I know how my wife is feeling pretty much just by glancing at her, and it’s really fulfilling to be on the same wavelength as my partner like that, especially because we’re also open communicators who can share the honest, fucked up feelings without worrying about judgment. So we’re basically each other’s therapist, but we share housework and meals and money, and we snuggle and kiss and fuck. I can understand that that’s not appealing to everybody, but it’s hard for me to imagine a version of myself who doesn’t want this. But again, it’s not for everybody, and it’s perfectly okay to not want it for yourself.
Now that’s a healthy relationship. I agree marriage isn’t for some, just like having kids isn’t for some. To each their own, perhaps my views will change in the future.
I’d personally place tea on S and water on A. Tea is far too versatile. Water is great but tea hydrates just as much and has the potential to be much much more.
I mostly agree, but I’m not drinking any sort of tea after a 10k. Water/tea/coffee is 95% of what I drink. Whole milk is 3%, and boba tea is another 1%. I’m ashamed to say I drink soda in social settings.
I’d argue though, after a 10K, you’re not drinking for any other reason than hydration and in such cases water is always the best. But I’d argue that’s an edge case unless you’re a professional athlete or live in a very hot environment
I also drink because I enjoy the taste. Some people drink coffee or energy drinks to stay awake. One can drink alcohol to get drunk. There are many reasons. Yes, hydration is almost always a present and desired effect but not always the reason.
Wife an I met and got married when I was 25 and she was 19. We had some life experience and knew what we wanted. 15 years later, it’s still amazing, we’re still best friends and inseparable. When I met her I got this weird feeling, like I met someone I had somehow known all my life. It felt like I met my wife in a past life, and was immediately like “oh there you are!” When I met her in this one.
I maintain that I was married to her in a past life. From our first date we clicked immediately. It felt like I was back into a groove with someone I’ve known forever. She came over to stay at my place for the weekend after like our 4th date, she never left. We’ve been living together since like 3 weeks after meeting, and we have never regretted it. We have kids and love each other and our life immensely.
