If you are forced to consuming mostly cheap packaged goods like Hamburger Helper and the like, add the secret spice blend to make it actually have some flavor:

Salt*, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and MSG.

*Check the sodium levels already in the packaged food first; if it’s already high, you can ignore adding more.

These spices are cheap and make everything so much better. Even non-savory stuff sometimes benefits.

When I was in high school, first time I ever got drunk at a party, I drove home afterwards and just lived 2 blocks away in a small town. I kept saying to myself “no wonder this is illegal” the 5 minutes it took to get home and never drove drunk again. The drunk effect in GTA4 is pretty spot on compared to that real life experience.

Given the amount of videos on these games you’d think they were super popular and well known, but when they were brand new nobody knew about 'em. To this day, I rarely find anyone who actually played them when they were first launched on an actual DOS computer and not through GOG and DOSBox.

Even today, it’s rare that I run into people who know how awesome they are. They had it all; bitchin’ graphics, insane action, amazing FMV with actual acting and costumes… Other than the controls, they still hold up today.

I think I liked it more on launch than I do now. I had all of like 5 bugs my first 3 times through the game before they started changing things.

  • A dude that pops into existence during the scene at Tom’s Diner and Gumby t-poses out a wall
  • a random T-posing baddie when I zoomed in my first sniper rifle
  • the painting exploit
  • the melee weapon exploit when doing the boxing matches
  • the slow-mo bunny hop speed exploit.

None of these negatively affected the game. In fact the last one was dope and I wish they didn’t fix that one at all.

Coming back recently because of 2.0 and I get:

  • Stuck in 1st person while driving, which sucks because most of the cars have impossibly tiny windshields and I literally can not fucking see where I am going.
  • AI cars in traffic that just explode like they were hit by invisible cars, throwing them around or cars falling from the sky, sometimes on me and killing me
  • UI freezing so that I’m basically stuck with the scan mode overlay while I’m no longer scanning which requires a full restart of the game to fix.
  • The new skill system has a skill that says it lets you reload and another skill to shoot while vaulting but neither seem to actually work.
  • Tons of script related issues that break sequences in the quest I am on, forcing a reload. Sometimes several minutes prior because it has to be before the trigger that broke the shit.

None of these are fun and they all impact the game negatively. :/

It’s pretty funny that someone would give a single child who is never seen playing with other kids (Suzie doesn’t count since he doesn’t play with her; he torments her) a game that requires at least 2 people. Definitely seems like something his dad would do.

If I was ever somewhere that polar bears also were around, I’d never leave the bunker without having some kind of snacks on me that I could give the bear to leave me the fuck alone. You should still be able to message the mods of the community even if they’re on another instance. You just can’t reply to the message because it would go straight to the bot and never be seen by anyone.

I heard about one called Raccoon being made and now I am waiting for that to have a download all for the name alone. I’d like to keep with Liftoff but the dev had a kid not too long ago and that was the last we’ve heard from him. Unless something changes soon, 0.19 Lemmy is gonna break Liftoff :(

Now that it’s legal, it’s not really regional to in and around Humboldt County; there are weed farms in the central valley now. Also, meth is stronger and much more present outside the green strip.
