Hmm, what’s something I really like that gets shit on all the time? Open-world games with question marks all over the map is a big one. I like checking off points of interest, but it’s reviled by many, and I can understand why. I also hate Soulslike games even though they seem to be super popular.
Sometimes I talk to the ghost and I am always disappointed when it doesn’t talk back. My days of being scared of ghosts are over now I just want to talk to someone who sees me as a person instead of a lower being.
I used to be active on /r/mma which was actually a decent sub with good moderation, but there was also /r/ufc which was just awful.
A place for teenagers to post dogshit takes and say shit like “I can’t wait to see X fighter get knocked out”. They treat it like WWE, wanting it to be a dramatic story and not the competitive sport that it is.
Oh ffs. For me it was the 40K fans. The grand majority is completely fine. But there are still these mouth breathing, bitter, gatekeeping neckbeards who loose their mind the moment something goes against…well they loose their mind all the time. No real reason to it. At least the mods tried to contain the worst offenders. Who would have thought a setting filled with hate and xenophobia attracts hate filled racists?
I think you just keep adding more ‘is’ to the ending depending on how severe the event is
crisis - your toast is burnt
crisisis - your toast is on fire
crisisisis - your toast is on fire and the flames have spread through your kitchen
crisisisisis - your toast fire has spread to your house and your neigbhours house
crisisisisisis - your toast fire has opened a massive portal to hell
crisisisisisisisis - your toast has opened a portal to hell and has allowed Satan and his minions into our realm
I think they were just pointing out that isn’t a U turn. They called it a Y turn, many people I know would call it a 3 point turn. They were being pedantic for comic relief but it didn’t go over as well as expected.
Re-basing currency. Basically the mint makes “old money” worthless overnight, and “new money” is printed that has value that is more realistic. You get a window to buy new money with old money, and then that’s it. I have no idea how that happens with digital accounting, but would obviously need to be a thing too. Point being: it’s possible for inflation to be so horribly mismanaged that you have to declare a do-over to fix it.
Zimbabwe is the current poster child for this, where trillion-dollar notes were exchanged for single-dollar amounts on their third attempt of re-basing. But other countries like Iceland have done this in the not too distant past.
I’ll add that with the US dollar being a de-facto reserve currency just about everywhere, the %1 is in the same boat with the rest of us. So I wouldn’t expect things to get that dire. It might get re-based eventually, but probably more of a “let’s move the decimal point over because this looks stupid” kind of a thing.
