My immediate thought was toward enshittification. He didn’t make shit it was turned to shit. Which is exactly what happens to most things that slowly becomes popular.

I usually like everything, but Olive Garden is the one restaurant I won’t even go to if someone else is paying. Absolutely God awful what they do to pasta there.

Seriously, I don’t even know anymore what’s true with moss.

Grew up with that saying “moss grows heaviest on the north side of a tree” and then maybe in high school or in my early 20’s (there was definitely a sizeable period where tons of stuff I grew up being taught was being “um actually’d” as historians or scientists learned more) it was debunked.

But naturalists and park rangers and shit still say it’s semi true; moss does grow heavier to the north on particular trees, and other specific conditions. Which is just more confusing. 😵‍💫

Mine’s probably only shitty if you’re not a furry. I have been trying to design a skin-tight fur suit and head piece because I find the current way fursuits are made to be bulky and excessively hot because it’s not just fur, but hella foam too. Secondary benefits is that the headpiece would be connected in a way that opening and closing your jaw will open and close the jaw of the character head, as well as being easy enough to get on and off quickly and unassisted.

I don’t have plans to block any. I’ve already blocked the active communities in some of the instances I might consider blocking in whole to the point I never see posts from those instances anyway as well as any individual problem user I run across. I don’t really see a reason to block an entire server because even the worst places have some good people, just like all the best places still have some shitty people. Unless the instance itself was dedicated to CP or something.

I wish Scratch and the owlbear cub could come with me on my adventure instead of only staying at camp. The dog could have been a way to uncover the buried treasures 100% of the time and such. Like both sniffing them out and digging them up if you didn’t have a shovel.

For some reason, I can not log into any instance of Lemmy on FireFox mobile. No errors or anything; I log in, it goes through reloading the page after submitting my credentials, and then I am not logged in. :/

Desktop FireFox is fine. I do have problems with the posts (but not the page containing them) loading when trying to view it through Steam’s overlay browser though.

A lotta folks host their own instance simply to have a bit more control over what they personally see since until 0.19, only instance admins can block an entire instance. It also allows you to see metrics you can’t otherwise; such as the actual users who voted up and down on a specific post.
