Kolanaki, (edited ) in I am astounded that someone made this...
@Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

Whoever made this clearly wants to eat Astarion’s ass. His tight, bleached, fragrant, shaved, gourmet ass.

snooggums,
@snooggums@kbin.social avatar

Plus it is served cold like gazpacho!

thefartographer,

MTG has entered the chat

ChicoSuave,

Replace hair with toppings and it looks like an ice cream chart. Someone wants Astarions banana sundae.

Nepenthe, (edited )
@Nepenthe@kbin.social avatar

I am intrigued that your idea of an icecream chart also includes "shade of butthole"

ChicoSuave,

Vanilla to chocolate. If we want to get Neapolitan, include strawberry for full spectrum flavor.

DragonTypeWyvern,

Everyone is a little gay for Astarion. Even the women.

MindSkipperBro12,

Nah, they’re thinking of Orin.

troyunrau, in Baldur's Gate 3 - Otiluke's Conveniently Long Range Stealth Bomber (Cheese Strat)
@troyunrau@lemmy.ca avatar

Well, the underpants glitch is going to get patched haha.

darth_helmet,

This feels like a pretty tame way to use unlimited freecast, honestly. By the time you have everything you need, there are only a few fights left that it’s worth using on, as well.

RonSijm,
@RonSijm@programming.dev avatar

Yea, there are more overpowered things to use with unlimited freecast, though the thing with the underpants glitch is that it takes an Action. So if you’re trying to use this during combat, it’s not that great.

Also with this method, killing anyone does not seem to get associated with you. So you can basically stealth kill anyone, and then walk back back in with your group and everyone around is still friendly

RonSijm,
@RonSijm@programming.dev avatar

It’s been in there since the beginning, I also would have assumed they would have patched it away by now.

There was a similar kinda bug with Markoheshkir, and they did patch that

Hairyblue, in 'There's almost nobody left': CEO of Baldur's Gate 3 dev Swen Vincke says the D&D team he initially worked with is gone, due to Hasbro layoffs
@Hairyblue@kbin.social avatar

The CEO and upper management at WOTC are the real monsters. Greed is bad.

I bet they don't even play D&D.

Ulvain,

Megacorporations are neither Good or Bad, not even Neutral in DND terms. Those are human motivations. They’re Shareholder Profit-motivated.

Some corps are Lawful Shareholder Profit-motivated, some are Neutral Shareholder Profit-motivated and some are Cahotic Shareholder Profit-motivated.

I find it interesting to reframe their actions and motivations this way…

lzbz,

There was some sort of QnA with the important WOTC people for some DnD influencers not too long ago, where they confirmed they never played and politely declined a room full of experienced DMs that wanted to run a game for them… Don’t remembrr what the event was, but I think it was this sumner

Entropywins,
@Entropywins@kbin.social avatar

Oh I'm sorry I actually don't like fun so I'll have to decline a game...

Linuto,

Yeah that was at GenCon this year.

kakes,

Was that back during the OGL scandal? I recall seeing a bunch of interviews then, but that was like 3 scandals ago, so it’s hard to keep track.

Sanctus, in [Spoilers] I bought my friend BG3 for Christmas and
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Yesss, yess! Half Orc Barbarian is so much fun. I only wish we had a voice that was basically just growls. Did you drop a hint for that badass sword you can get from the gith peeps in Act 1?

RinseDrizzle,

Honestly yeah. I know it would just add much more work and storage having even more voice acting, but barbarian/dragonborn voices are too prim and proper in current state.

ghostdoggtv,

basically just growls

I think they’ve patched one in, I’m playing a dragonborn storm sorc and his voice is so low it’s jarring sometimes.

i_stole_ur_taco, in [Spoilers] I bought my friend BG3 for Christmas and

I didn’t release Withers in my first play through and he still randomly showed up at camp later in Act 1. I don’t remember if he said any “we meet again” stuff but it was weird and possibly a bug.

It’s surprising how many times you need to replay the game to really understand everything a quest or NPC might do. The butterfly effect is strong in this game.

highenergyphysics,

Fate spins along as it should.

teft,
@teft@startrek.website avatar

Not a bug. He shows up regardless if you find him in his crypt or not.

Amir,
@Amir@lemmy.ml avatar

I also did a run where I speedran getting Minthara, so I skipped a massive portion of the game in that run. He shows up at some point lol

JakkFlagg, in [Spoilers] I bought my friend BG3 for Christmas and

I’m following this since I also have yet to buy it.

FalseAladeen,

If the price is not a problem for your income level, I highly recommend buying the game if you enjoy turn based crpgs. The game is worth every bit of the cost and more. Definitely the best game I’ve played so far.

BoastfulDaedra,

Honestly it’s a pretty sick game for its price. I have zero regrets, it’s like ME1 all over again. Probably is still on sale.

skullone, in Baldur's Gate 3 tips and tricks for Honor Mode

Would sacrificing gale count as a win and grant the golden dice in honor mode?

teft,
@teft@startrek.website avatar

I’m going to assume yes only because it worked for my tactician trophy. I will update you by the end of the week as I plan on having my run done by then.

teft,
@teft@startrek.website avatar

Well I finished up Honor mode a few days later than I thought. But I did find out that sending Gale up the stem at the end does skip the final fight and still rewards the golden dice. Good luck!

skullone,

Thanks for reporting back!

bjoern_tantau, in Pro tip: use those empty pouches/ backpacks for item organization
@bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de avatar

I just use the filters. Manually sorting everything into containers is too much effort for me.

thedirtyknapkin,

yeah, i just search everything. usually only need to type 3 letters at most, often only one.

is that harder on console or does no one no about that?

bjoern_tantau,
@bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de avatar

With the gamepad UI you can’t search by terms. But searching by type or sorting is usually enough for me.

vzq, in My husband forever and always

I picked Gale as my origin character on a whim (I wanted to get to playing without spending too much time in character creation. Also I like wizards), but he’s been a blast to play.

DudeDudenson,

I’ve been just playing custom characters, I’m on like the 3rd 100% playthrough. How different is it to grab one of the characters? Do you get to be an asshole to everyone as la zael?

HRDS_654,

I wouldn’t say it’s significantly different, but it’s different enough. Some of the choices are actually based around the characters, and you get character specific cutscenes.

MagicShel,

I have yet to play an origin character other than durge. But it seems like it would make it easier to have everyone around for their bit of story. "Oops going into the magic shop need Gale. Here’s Jahira’s family, better grab her. Dammit, it’s Mizora, have to grab both Karlach and Wyll. Ugh, have to show this cave art to Shart.

Not even counting swapping in Gale when I need Feather Fall or buffing the party with Longstrider or Shart for Feast and Aid. I hate how cumbersome it is to swap characters. I know there are mods, but not on PS5.

Aaroncvx,

On your next play through try killing or running off most of your companions and you won’t have that issue. You’re welcome.

asexualchangeling,

Playing as durge rn (second play through, first as durge) and I’ve already lost all but shadow heart, astarian, and lazel to “accidents”, I hope I don’t regret that later but it’s nice having a more limited team, plus I can rely on hirelings if I need to

skulblaka, in How disappointed would Withers be if I cast Speak with Dead on him?
@skulblaka@kbin.social avatar

Withers isn't dead, he's undead, and he went through a hell of a ritual to accomplish that so you WILL refer to him by his proper title.

That's Sir Withers to you. And no, he's not taking questions.

Katzastrophe,
@Katzastrophe@feddit.de avatar

And no he does not know who this “Jergal” fellow is, but he’s heard he has an 8-pack

MrBubbles96, in How disappointed would Withers be if I cast Speak with Dead on him?

“No.”

–Withers, most likely

Nepenthe,
@Nepenthe@kbin.social avatar

You can ask him five questions, but he won't be answering any of them.

Hairyblue, in The best thing about Baldur's Gate 3's companions is that they keep getting in your way
@Hairyblue@kbin.social avatar

I am enjoying the companions so far but I am still early in the game. Act 1.

dingsbums,

I’m deep into act 3 now and this game does not pull punches. I’m loving it (even if it hurts sometimes)

HumbertTetere, in The best thing about Baldur's Gate 3's companions is that they keep getting in your way

spoiler.If you want to talk her back from the edge, you need to succeed on either a whopping DC 30 or a DC 21 persuasion check. If you can’t do that, you either need to kill her, let her leave your party for good, or allow her to go through with spearing the Nightsong.

spoiler.I experienced this is not always the case. My Shadowheart threw away the spear both when I encouraged her to do so successfully and when I just told her I had her back however she decides. Only in case of encouraging violence did she kill the Nightsong, so it might also depend on your previous interactions. I’m playing a good druid with Shadowheart as a LI.

Skyhighatrist,

Just an FYI, reddit style spoilers don’t work on lemmy. To do a spoiler use this syntax:

::: spoiler caption
spoiler goes here
:::

Kolanaki, (edited ) in Yes, Scratch, Good Dog
@Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

I wish Scratch and the owlbear cub could come with me on my adventure instead of only staying at camp. The dog could have been a way to uncover the buried treasures 100% of the time and such. Like both sniffing them out and digging them up if you didn’t have a shovel.

bjoern_tantau,
@bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de avatar

But Scratch actually can come with you. You can summon him with a ball he brings you.

And then he at least sniffes out buried treasure. I don’t consider it to be meta gaming when I dig around after everyone failed their survival checks, when Scratch is pointing somewhere.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

Wait what?! I thought that ball was just a random item he brings you that you can throw so he’d fetch it. It summons him?!

bjoern_tantau,
@bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de avatar

Yep, it’s awesome to let him get the last hit in on a hard boss.

Technus,

I had Scratch out once. I got into a fight and tried to use his abilities, got him killed with an AOE, reloaded the save, and never left camp with him again.

I don’t care what buried treasure I’m missing, Scratch is far too precious to risk his safety like that.

bjoern_tantau,
@bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de avatar

At the moment I’m playing a Githyanki. She’s taking (almost) any advantage she can.

Eddyzh, (edited )

You can just summon him again (after rest) And he wil stil be back in camp if he dies during a fight. Just like any familiar.

RinseDrizzle,

Good to know!
