I find I focus even worse when I’m high, I just want to get up and do stuff, like stretch or exercise. I definitely didn’t do that when I was younger and smoked, so idk what’s changed.
Must be a third party app or forked instance. Points were removed in a previous version of Lemmy, I believe, in favor of just showing post count and comment count.
When I was in school…I’m pretty sure the state history cirriculum was designed to be America centric, and pro-America. Any nation a boomer would remember being at war with? Not in the history books, or they appear out of nowhere, do something pro-America, and then disappear again, like Russia did from 1939 to 1945. And both World and US history classes end at 1950 because 1. to the limp dicks that actually make the policy, “The fifties are practically now” and 2. we haven’t done much “being the good guys” since the jitterbug fell out of fashion.
So I’m not used to seeing something in a history textbook that isn’t from at least two of my lifetimes ago.
We homeschool our kids, and are religious, but we are heavily opposed to Christian nationalism, and want our kids to learn what actually happened, not some whitewashed curriculum that downplays anyone particular people’s ideological downfalls.
We found a curriculum, but it took a while. One of the first ones I opened to read through had a first chapter titled “God’s gift to the world through America” noped right out of that one…
Looks like it’s (at)username(at)instance. So for you it’d be @CheesyGordita. It doesn’t suggest or autofill the instance or anything so you gotta know their whole deal.
(well that links to the user in question anyway, I assume that also tells them there’s a mention)
My friend, who is a windows and android guy, encourage his family to buy Macs and iPhones. That way when they have problems, he sends them to the Apple Store.
I mean, good idea ;) P. S.: I’ve yet to meet a Linux guy who wouldn’t help out another Linux person. Well, admittedly I’m the only Linux guy, but I’d help Linux people just because of principle ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I’m good with public filming in our current world where the government tracks everything we do. It’s the only hope for a shred of transparency and accountability. I’d only be okay with restrictions on public filming if those restrictions are also applied to all of the powers that be as well.
“An iced tea spoon, also called a soda spoon or a latte spoon, is a thin spoon with a long handle. It is used primarily in the United States for stirring sugar or other sweeteners into iced tea, which is traditionally served in a tall glass.”
From Wikipedia. I guess it’s just a long, thin stirring spoon
Honestly, I picked up a few of those on a lark, and they’re great to have in the drawer. Anytime I’m trying reach down and get just a little bit out of a deep and mostly empty jar of salsa, honey, or whatever, that soda spoon is the perfect thing. Never used 'em to eat an ice cream float, but lovely for other purposes.
I do the same… I have a few of these and had no idea they were called “soda spoon”. I called them “long spoon” because I didn’t know the name.
This is also the perfect thing for these bottles of sauce that are too deep for a regular tea spoon, and the mouth of the bottle is too narrow for a table spoon, this works really well.
