That’s why God invented OpenSUSE Tumbleweed for all your stable rolling release needs.

Reminds me of the novelisation of Day of the Tentacle that had the title “My Physics Adventure or It’s Never Too Late to Stop Pollution, So Let’s Start Yesterday”.

I usually use grip, but I think that’s not maintained anymore.

Dragging and dropping in KDE usually works as well. It has a built-in ripper, presenting an audio cd as wav, ogg, mp3 or flac files.

It might also be possible that federation is broken. There are some issues in the newest Lemmy version.

The ambient temperature needs to be significantly lower than body temperature though, because your body is constantly generating heat that has to be dissipated. 36 °C is too hot for a human for long stretches of time.

Edit: And the post doesn’t seem to be about ambient temperature at all.

Saw a documentary about Vienna the other day. They have state sponsored housing that is cheap or free and nice to look at and situated together in rich neighbourhoods to work against segregation.

Don’t know if this is the case for all of Vienna or Austria.

Yes, Scratch, Good Dog

Scratch is the bestest of the best boys. I think he got even better with the new patch. Maybe too good. I threw the vial of smokepowder to blast through a wall. And the good boy thinks I want to play fetch. So while everyone runs away from the wall and I’m getting ready to IGNIS the good boy fetches the smokepowder and brings...

Yep, it’s awesome to let him get the last hit in on a hard boss.

But Scratch actually can come with you. You can summon him with a ball he brings you.

And then he at least sniffes out buried treasure. I don’t consider it to be meta gaming when I dig around after everyone failed their survival checks, when Scratch is pointing somewhere.

The save option is app-independent. Saved posts are saved on the server. So unless an app doesn’t have a button for it they should all support them.

I used a script that did everything for me, so I’m not 100 % sure. But as far as I know you enable the feature at mount time and then every time you copy something only a reference is copied until you actually do a change to the new or old file.

For everything else a cronjob runs every week or so to search for unnecessary duplicates.

I thought the flexibility of BTRFS was that you could basically always add subvolumes. Shows what I know.

Spoiler for the epilogue:

EpilogueShadowheart mentions (at least on Selûne path, when you romanced her) befriending a peculiar Imp named Bing Bong after your adventures in Baldur’s Gate. So I guess in this universe Bing Bong is alive and well in Faerûn.

Depends™

If I don’t expect many changes I would do a simple HTML page. Maybe with PHP to include the layouts on multiple sites.

If I or a relative should be able to edit it now and then I would use WordPress without any plugins. Set it to auto-update and call it a day.

There was this guy in our friends group who was your guarantee of losing if he was on your team. You could pair him up with the best players and still his utter lack of game-comprehension would somehow drag the others down to his level.

It is usually much slower than a direct connection or a commercial VPN.

Also law enforcement, spy agencies and criminals all run public nodes to get lucky and grab as much data on you as possible. So you should never use TOR for unencrypted websites. But I’d say the same should be assumed when using a commercial VPN.

I’ve made a game titled Diarrhea 4 because someone mentioned that as a potential game name. Does that count?

If you’re using your computer for work and can’t afford to spend some time figuring out how to do something that would be second nature for you on Windows, you shouldn’t switch. It would probably be more expensive than just buying a Windows license.

That said, you shouldn’t expect too many problems. You can try out your Word templates right now in Libre Office. Or just run the web version of Microsoft Office in Linux. Video codecs are usually just one command away.

In terms of what distribution to choose, I would choose something popular that’s stable and comes with sane defaults. Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora or OpenSUSE Leap.

The main difference for a newbie will probably be how to install software. On Linux you usually don’t go to the manufacturers website and download an installer. Instead you go to your software center and search there for what you need. Similar to the App Store and Play Store on phones.

www really doesn’t matter and has nothing to do with the quality of a website. It used to be that servers would use the www subdomain so that they could be told apart from their mailservers (which would use smtp) and other servers they might have.

Nowadays this isn’t really needed. Most websites can be accessed with and without the www. The www is usually just used out of tradition and because it makes a domain look more like a web address for the masses.

Strange how perception works. The last time I was really amazed by graphics was with Unreal. I could admire the castle in the intro for hours.

The Doom 3 alpha was astonishing as well. But by the time it was released it felt like just another gradual advancement among all the other games.

Maybe it’s a console vs PC thing where console players would get and incredible leap with each generation whereas PC players saw all the steps to reach the next generation.
