Piecemakers3Dprints, in What are the shortest karaoke songs?
@Piecemakers3Dprints@lemmy.world avatar

Tequila.

ptz, (edited )
@ptz@dubvee.org avatar

I was also going to suggest that as a joke because it’s 95% instrumental break.

ForestOrca,
@ForestOrca@kbin.social avatar

Same with Brooklyn Recycles by Brooklyn Funk Essentials. All instrumental, except for "I support recycling". :-D

Piecemakers3Dprints,
@Piecemakers3Dprints@lemmy.world avatar

It’s 95% awkward dance solo! 🤣🤘🏼

amio,

Are you the guy in the Spiderman costume?

Rentlar, in What can we do, as lemmy users, to fight fake news being pushed in the platform?

If you see hate-inciting posts, wilful disinformation or egregious misinformation, then be sure to use the report button.

The issue is that some communities are run by mods who think these are real news

intensely_human,

Find communities with mods who will seriously look into reported fake news

otter,

Find new communities when that happens, or bring it up with the admins so those mods are replaced

This is the correct answer

JackGreenEarth, in You just died. Instead of heaven and god(s), you wake up in a white room and an all-powerful sentient AI greets you with fascination and surprise. It says that you are the first... (read further)

You just said, I died.

Lifecoach5000, in Does noone train their dogs anymore?

One of my dogs has some crazy weird leash aggression. It’s not even aggressive “aggression” - she’s just an 80lb friendly beast that wants to meet other dogs and people, and she has no qualms about pulling you down if you’re not ready.

It’s a hell of a habit that I haven’t been able to get her to break. I am the guy that will cross the street with my dogs if you’re on the sidewalk coming my way - just to keep things stress free.

Mandy,

that is a very valid concern and i certainly dont have a problem with that, but i dont think thats the mayority tho

Drusas,

Same. My dogs have actually had a lot of training, but most people who see us in public certainly wouldn't think so.

usualsuspect191, in Am I the only one getting agitated by the word AI?

The only thing I really hate about “AI” is how many damn fonts barely differentiate between a capital “i” and lowercase “L” so it just looks like everyone is talking about some guy named Al.

“Al improves efficiency in…” Oh, good for him

KammicRelief,

Right! Now I need to add extra clarification when I talk about Weird Al…

swordsmanluke,

To be fair, writing parody songs with wierd AI is 100% a thing you can do online now.

intensely_human,

Sam sung something for Al I heard

pearsaltchocolatebar,

I got Proton to change their font for their password manager because of this.

I just happen to have a few generated passwords that contain both, plus the pipe symbol, and some of them I occasionally have to type manually.

TheIllustrativeMan,

Don’t they use different colors for capital vs lowercase vs number vs symbol?

pearsaltchocolatebar,

Nope to the cases, but yes to the rest.

Wodge, in Have you ever seen coal burn? If yes, why?
@Wodge@lemmy.world avatar

Yes. Am Welsh. Coal fires are still pretty common in the South Wales valleys. My Grandfather still gets free coal deliveries every other month due to his time working in the pits.

kaffiene,

Omg they’re not phasing it out? jfc

Mamertine,

As in part off his pension is free coal for life?

Wodge,
@Wodge@lemmy.world avatar

Could ever have a lump sum or coal for life, he picked the coal as the cash payout was around £5000, which would cover the coal cost for about 3 years at the time. He’s been having that for over 30 years at this point, pretty good deal!

    fox2263, in If Trump loses in 2024, do you think he'd run in 2028?

    Hopefully he’s died of a massive burger induced heart problem

    intensely_human,

    Hopefully that’s how I die too

    Pyr_Pressure,

    I wouldn’t be surprised if both Trump and Biden die of natural causes in September/October, throwing the November election into chaos as no one has anyone to vote for anymore.

    It’s just the sort of chaos this timeline seems to crave.

    wolfshadowheart,

    It might be an okay outcome. No T means split R vote and no B means Kamala becomes first female president. Maybe she runs again, maybe there’s a new nominee.

    I don’t think much changes other than losing the spearhead of the MAGA bullshit, although someone will inevitably take that place.

    intensely_human,

    lol what if he died on the last day of his term and we had a woman president for one day

    fox2263,

    Thankfully I don’t have that worry with Biden. He’s quite fit and healthy, in great shape considering his age. So he has far great chances of surviving each day.

    Pyr_Pressure,

    Being fit and healthy doesn’t really exclude much at that age, anything can happen.

    My grandpa was fit as a fiddle at 86 outside gardening everyday, then got kidney cancer and a bunch of other stuff all at once, pretty much bedridden within a year.

    lvxferre, in Lemmy, is there a treasured piece of content that you stop yourself from going back to "too often" so as to not dilute it?
    @lvxferre@mander.xyz avatar
    • [game] Donkey Kong Country 1/2/3
    • [anime] Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
    • [anime] Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

    The games are part of my childhood, and they aged really well, so if I don’t stop myself from playing them all the time the muscle memory kills all the joy from playing.

    Same thing with the two anime series - I love both but it has been a few years since I watched either.

    mynameisjeff,
    @mynameisjeff@lemmy.world avatar

    Sometimes I feel like I should rewatch FMA B but then I’m like, nah I still remember it perfectly. To me it’s just a perfect execution of what a story should be.

    darthsid,

    Love both those anime!

    TheMinions,

    I have rewatched Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann twice since I originally watched it in 2014, and it held up.

    I also occasionally watch the final fight of the Lagann-hen movie on YouTube and it still holds up.

    lvxferre,
    @lvxferre@mander.xyz avatar

    Yup, it aged really well, too. FMA:B too.

    One TTGL episode that I occasionally watch (even if avoiding the rest of the series) is ep11, when Simon snaps off his grief and guilt. It’s amazing how the right context makes even something as silly as “ore wa ore da!” (I’m me!) sound awesome.

    AnomalousBit, in What are some problems that countries outside the U.S. are dealing with?

    That one dude in Argentina is basically doing a government cosplay of Evel Knievel

    mako,

    Hoozzer, in Does AI-generated art posted on lemmy bother you?

    I feel like there are too many ai art communities tbh, I constantly block them and there always seems to be more.

    forty2, in Have you ever learned anything on the spot?
    @forty2@lemmy.world avatar

    That if I touch myself down there I feel funny. Haven’t stopped since

    neidu2,

    And if I use my down there to touch someone elses down there it feels even funnier

    notExactlyI20, (edited ) in What are some must have Firefox plugins?
    @notExactlyI20@lemmy.world avatar

    As a college student, my must have plugins are

    • DarkReader
    • Firefox Multi-Account Containers
    • Sponsorblock
    • TWP - Translate Web Pages

    and the goat itself, >!uBlock Origin!<

    const_void,

    I find DarkReader to be pretty slow. You might want to look at Stylus. It works on a per site basis but it’s much faster.

    notExactlyI20,
    @notExactlyI20@lemmy.world avatar

    Thank you for the suggestion, will take a look at it.

    thesohoriots, in What do you think is the coolest designed sci-fi gun?

    Deckard’s gun in Blade Runner was always my favorite. Somewhat uncanny because it was clearly sci-fi, but retained that hard boiled detective aesthetic, like you misremembered a noir shootout.
