Prometheus for sure. The Titian that humble his kind, the Titan that modeled man from clay, that stole fire from the Olympians when he saw man had no other gifts, that freed hope from Pandora’s box.
Athenas and Hephaestus’s gifts are invaluable gods of wisdom, craftsmen, and artificial beings, but without fire from the defiant Titan we had nothing to really build our cities from.
Also, Prometheus paid a horrific price for helping humanity. Generally-speaking, the Greek pantheon is fairly self-interested, and not terribly interested in helping humanity in general.
In Greek mythology, Prometheus (/prəˈmiːθiəs/; Ancient Greek: Προμηθεύς, [promɛːtʰéu̯s], possibly meaning “forethought”)[1] is sometimes referred to as the God of Fire.[2] Prometheus is best known for defying the Olympian gods by stealing fire from them and giving it to humanity in the form of technology, knowledge, and more generally, civilization.
In some versions of the myth, he is also credited with the creation of humanity from clay.[3] Prometheus is known for his intelligence and for being a champion of mankind,[4] and is also generally seen as the author of the human arts and sciences.[5] He is sometimes presented as the father of Deucalion, the hero of the flood story.[6][7][8]
The punishment of Prometheus for stealing fire from Olympus and giving it to humans is a subject of both ancient and modern culture. Zeus, king of the Olympian gods, condemned Prometheus to eternal torment for his transgression. Prometheus was bound to a rock, and an eagle—the emblem of Zeus—was sent to eat his liver (in ancient Greece, the liver was thought to be the seat of human emotions). His liver would then grow back overnight, only to be eaten again the next day in an ongoing cycle.
I don’t think that any other character in the pantheon could realistically be called as sympathetic. I’m not sure that any other divide Greek figure deserves humanity’s gratitude.
It’s always crazy to come into threads like these and see people say “I would murder as many elites as possible” without batting an eye, and in the same comment say “I could never give up hamburgers.” It’s some kind of insane self-soothing to throw all of the responsibility for a global issue onto a few scapegoats. It also shows that people have no intention of doing fuck all about climate change beyond typing up snarky comments on the internet.
The CO2 impact of one member of the Parasite Class is usually in excess of 100,000 working-class people, and if a personal jets and yachts are involved, can exceed the impact of 1,000,000 working-class people.
So yes, violently denuding the Parasite Class (which can also be done via effective taxation; just saying) is an effective way to combat climate change, provided the outcome doesn’t involve the working class adopting more excessive lifestyles due to more a equitable distribution of wealth.
i love corn(?)-based meat patties, but i haven’t really seen any meat replacements like the impossible burger anywhere for sale where i live. people just don’t want to never taste meat again, a replacement would work fine. probably.
The core of Abrahamic religion is based around an in-group / out-group ideology. When you dove-tail off that premise it is clear that Abrahamic religion uses labelism such as “evil” or “from the devil” in order to obfuscate their suppression and opression of the out-group.
Noralities is a girl who makes video essays about anime, and they’re not trivial opinions They involve writing, stereotypes, romance, society, and stuff. She’s done her homework.
Love Geerling and Rossmann, but I simply don’t understand the appeal of Levy; he is so over the top. Not that I would downvote this though, he is just not my style, and there are many good chess channels since the boom. Chessbrah, Anna Cramping, Hikaru, Banzea, and Hanging Pawns all come to mind.
Anna’s content, especially with parents GM Cramling and GM Bellón López is so fun and wholesome.
To boil down Kyle Hill as simply debunking conspiracy theories is so sad… He’s a science communicator and makes awesome educational content. Occasionally, he debunks a conspiracy or two.
Funnily enough I just got done with his video about the “nukes aren’t real” conspiracy theory. Of course that’s just one in his long Half Life Histories series which is mainly about the science and not conspiracies at all.
Lol, I used to hang out with Jenna way back in HS. I knew she was writing books, didn’t know she had a YouTube channel and/or was successful at it. That’s cool to hear.

I’m gonna just jump into the deep end and blurt out that I can’t freaking stand the cadence of his voice. It’s so choppy. And the inflections are just so off. I know he’s not a native speaker and all that but… God. It’s almost unbearable to me. I can’t compensate for it.
I mean Dr. KZF is a PhD in computer graphics and machine learning, his channel has always been on those two subjects. There’s just been a lot more papers about AI the past year, he still does graphics stuff.
And is was interesting when he went trough a paper on light calculations when rendering object and new physics calculation on fluids. The bulk of his content now seems to be “LOOK AT THIS STABLE DIFFUSION!” With “CHATGPT! Look at the AI do stuff!”
I mean it’s objectively the direction that computer graphics is going, we’re seeing more and more ML based rendering papers. It’s a rapidly evolving field so I wouldn’t expect it to have less papers in the future.
I never thought of that but yeah. I started watching shortly before ChatGPT exploded. The videos are really uninteresting after a while. It’s basically all just reaction videos but worse.
I got a bittersweet happy ending last weekend at 좋은 시간 Massage Parlor. It was fun in the moment, but when I was paying a Polaroid of my wife and kid that I keep in my wallet fell out.
She was always far left, and that fact underpinned pretty much every older video. She has always talked about social and economic issues, and done a damn good job of it.
Interesting take. I grew up and swung hard left. I’m a union executive and an advocate for voting reform and a universal basic income. My conservative father and I have the odd clash but surprisingly he’s pretty receptive to all this, and I’ve found many conservative folk are when you don’t treat them like they’re stupid.
Well, people don’t of course all grow to the same direction.
I think we old people (in 40+s) generally appreciate when young people passionately achieve something, even if it doesn’t exactly align with our own values.
I don’t think she knows the subject matter enough a lot of the time and is part of this weird commodification of philosophy happening. The political angle never bothered me.
I’ve no problem with the trans and lefty commentary, I find that stuff fascinating…
Who is miss is Oliver. Abigail is nice, but I identified with Oliver in a lot of ways. I can’t identify with Abigail. I wish they could have cloned/split into 2 people.
Check out the Carefree Wandering vids that use Abigail, coincidentally right before and after her transition, as an example of how philosophy is commodified by influencers, and some of the interesting things around identity and how it impacts the content etc.
You've answered your own question. You like 3rd-person shooter platformers, a genre which isn't as prevalent as it was in the 6th generation of consoles. Not as many games are coming out that fit your tastes. You're also nostalgic, which is perfectly fine, but you have to take off the goggles sometimes. I like Mario Sunshine better than a lot of modern 3D platformers, because I've been playing it for years and it was a big part of my childhood. But just because I love revisiting that game more than playing a new game sometimes, that doesn't mean modern games aren't reiterating and improving upon the things that made it great. A Hat in Time, Psychonauts 2, The Cosmic Shake, Spark the Electric Jester, Orbo's Odyssey, SEUM, Frogun, New Super Lucky's Tale, Supraland, Crash 4. So many great 3D platformers in recent years, with a ton of improvements to quality of life and control compared to where we were back in the day, as well as many new concepts.
Also, claiming that PS2 platformers as a whole look better than modern platformers as a whole is ridiculous, and you're also giving no examples of either case.
