Can’t tell if this is sarcasm (I’ve been on the internet too much today sorry) but just in case the Greek μ (mu) stands for “micro” since ‘m’ is already used for “milli”
yeah, i get that, but many people just use u because its more accessible (ascii and qwerty compatible), similar to writing μBittorrent as uBittorrent. imo i dont think its too big of a deal if it doesnt match the word micro, since μ is already a bit of a stretch. this is just my opinion, im not advocating for a SI reform or anything :)
μ is not a stretch at all, it’s literally the first character of the word micro. (Mu, iota, kappa, rho, omega). Similar to how other scientific words are derived from their original language.
It doesn’t matter, most people will understand you if you write um instead of μm, because it isn’t ambiguous.
Being Bruce Wayne doesn’t take much time at all. Being a capital landlord just means barking a few orders and paying other people to actually work.
A boardroom meeting here, a fancy party there.
This was portrayed very well in the Nolan trilogy.
If anything he’s Batman or training/prepping to be batman 12+ hours a day, sleeping 6-8 or maintaining muscle would be next to impossible(if he is in fact supposed to be human), and the rest to being a billionaire CEO.
Totally. Alfred and Dick are always encouraging him to get out more as Bruce Wayne to help sell the playboy facade, but he just doesn’t have time for it.
I seem to recall an interaction between Bats, Superman, and WW.
All lassoed with the lasso of truth and stating their real identities.
Two give their real birth names, and Bats just identifies as batman, revealing that Bruce is absolutely his alter ego, billionaire mask he wears in public.
I pirate the absolute shit out of Nintendo games and everything else. My issue isn’t with the piracy, it’s with people profiting off of piracy. Those people can get fucked and I love to see it.
More like a strict belief that piracy should be free. In Gary’s case, charging money for sxos and adding DRM to it is what really bothers me though I will admit that I don’t like the precedence this case sets.
A friendly reminder: SxOS is a mostly ripped off version of the FOSS CFW, Atmosphere.
I don’t care that they sold hardware for a profit, but they can go fuck themselves for TIVOing open source software and pretending it was all their own original work.
I’ll take my lumps in this case. Gary Bowser is a piece of trash for a plethora of reasons. The precedence this case sets is honestly pretty terrible but the punishment couldnt have happened to a better person.
I would agree in the case of reselling pirated content, as a core piracy principle is that data itself has no value and can be given away for free. Once you start selling it, you’re just a thief.
But he was part of a modchip team selling physical hardware. They manufactured a real product that was not itself pirated, and users had the choice to use the devices for homebrew or even to not install them at all.
This case is literally like blaming a gun manufacturer for murder.
Well, no cost to replicate, anyways. I’m a strong believer that if you get value from something you should pay for it, but in my youth I did pirate a lot of games and media because I didn’t have the disposable income for it. No sales were lost.
I still do pirate games I own. My daughter pretty much has exclusive use of my Switch now so I play my Switch games on PC. Honestly I will buy games and then never play the official copy, and download the ROMs to run at 1440/120FPS on PC.
Ironic that Xecuter got busted for Switch modchips when emulators now do a better job than the Switch itself.
I also only pirate games I own, though for slightly different reasons. I don’t think you should pay for everything you get value from (I don’t [directly] pay people back for gifts, for example,) but I do think it’s theft to pirate a game you never bought. Plus, buying games is how you support the developers.
Kind of makes sense if you view the program as a service. Many programs could be interpreted as contained, executable, repeatable services. Either way they’re so abstract compared to lots of other goods and services that they’re gonna be their own niche kind of commodity anyway.
I have my own pair of leggings because they’re comfy AF and if anyone wants to talk shit about that, two things: A, my wife bought them for me and that makes them EXTRA special, and 2: fuck off randy, the only reason you’re so butt hurt is because your massive insecurities prevent your ass from being caressed by a cloud.
Honestly for the longest time I didn’t even know leggings were supposed to be “girls clothing” I always wore them as a child in winter under my jeans. Never knew they “weren’t meant for me” . Honestly leggings are great
One piece was getting popular while I was in college. But so did 100 other shonens, and I was aging out of it.
So to see it still here 20 years later, I decided to “wait” because I heard the whole Wano Arc was going to be the penultimate arc. But that pandemic hit hard and so I binged on everything.
And now I’m fucked as every few months since 2021, I’m wondering what the Straw Hats are up to.
The great thing about skirts is that they can be breezy even when they’re long! So if you’re not comfortable with everyone looking at your legs, or can’t be bothered trying to sit without showing your crotch, get a nice sweepy skirt that comes to your ankles and Stride! Sprawl! Swagger and Swash! Shwing!
You're missing one state solution. That's what's essentially going to happen as things go. They're depopulating gaza with the plan to eventually grant citizenship to the reduced population of Palestinians so they can maintain a jewish majority. West bank alone wouldn't cause a loss in majority, but Gaza would. They won't grant right of return. Though that is genocide.

“In 1656, all Jews were expelled from Isfahan and forced to convert to Islam because of a common belief that their Jewishness was impure.”
“in 1661 they were allowed to revert to Judaism, although they were still required to wear a distinctive patch on their clothing.”
Meh, if you can call the dhimmi status a peaceful life, yeah I guess.
Anyway as soon as a Jewish state was declared, all the Arab countries attacked it, I wonder why. So now they didn’t want Jews in their Arab countries, and they didn’t want them in their Jewish country. So where exactly were they supposed to live?
What do you mean colonial? Jews are indigenous to Judea and they’ve never left. All the lands were either bought to Arabs or conquered after wars that the Arabs themselves started.
Even in the first century, about half the Jews lived outside Judea and it went down from there. And it’s not like they were displaced by moslems. They just left.
That's a right winger position on the one state solution. I'm not implying that's the only position, but that's essentially the path Israel is walking down right now. The left wing one state solution is much less problematic.
Of course it is the Jews’ fault, if they wouldn’t have existed, the Palestinians wouldn’t have wanted to kill them all and make Palestine Jew-free for the first time in 3,200 years.
Islam came about 1440 years ago. Muslims/ Arab empires ruled from Spain all the way to the borders of China and parts of eastern Europe for at least 800 years.
If they really hated jewish people they wouldn’t be any by now.

And African Jews in Israel are secretly sterilised by the state so that they can’t have children. Leading to a 50% birth rate decline compared to other groups
Reuben spoke to one woman who believed she had been given a flu vaccination and had no idea she had been injected with Depo-Provera.
Another was pregnant with her fifth child when she arrived in the transit camp, where she would live for seven years. The woman in her thirties told Reuben that officials had gathered together all the new mothers in the camp and told them they would be given Depo-Provera as it would be too difficult for them to give birth Israel.
"No, we didn't want to take it, we refused. We said we didn't want it," the unnamed woman recalls in the film. She agreed to the injections only because she was told her immigration to Israel would be blocked and she would receive no further healthcare in the camps if she refused.
"This happened to many, many other women," Reuben said.
Can you please edit your comment to reflect your source on this? For the record, I know the source and it’s just straight up factual with Israel outright confirming it happened, but yeah. Just to help prevent some reports. Thanks <3

Yeah, I’m confused. Depo-Provera is a contraceptive that needs to be administered every 3 months to prevent pregnancy. And it doesn’t end a pregnancy, it’s been deemed safe for pregnant women and women who (unlikely but possibly) become pregnant after an injection.
It also may help prevent some cancers of the reproductive tract.
Skeptical of the guardians article or the message that people are taking from it.
I think you are missing the point. Jewish people who live outside of Israel can’t be beholden to policies set by Israel. Its also important to note that Jewish is both a religion and a race.
Don’t let the conflicts in Israel control your treatment of other humans. If we let hate overcome us we could end up with Holocaust type situations (it doesn’t even need to be Jewish hate)
Also people who think all all Jews are Israelis. My wife is Canadian Jewish, and she’s not very religious or political. I’m Latino and I know more about Israel than she does, but people sometimes try to put Israel’s baggage on her or her family because of their ancestry. She considers herself Canadian, and her Jewish heritage is a cultural one, not a location.
Floppy disks? How old is this meme? In the nearly twenty years I’ve been in Japan, I’ve never even seen a floppy disk.
Paper filing is an option if you want it.
And as for cash, electronic payments have really taken off in the last year. I still value my privacy though. So I stick it out in the slow line up.
All in all, there’s a kernel of truth to the meme. What the outside sees as a Blade Runner society drenched in neon, the reality is more “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” kinda place.
Yep. Having worked in the industry for a long time, including trying to transition to EMR and such, I get this. In Japan, one of the reason fax machines are still important that is not often talked about is that they generally have a bank of pre-programmed numbers. This is seen as a way to reduce the chance of exposing PII to others by accident. This is not wrong, but the same could be implemented for other systems such as email (or the host of EDI that exist). I literally just had a training that said we should not even send a fax ourselves, but have someone observe that we hit the correct pre-programmed button for it.
Finally, someone else who gets it. It’s so weird that so many people think all Jews came from a single tribe at the edge of the desert. That’s not how religions work…
Because it’s both? Jews can be both semites (ethnicity) and followers of Judaism (religion). Not all Jewish people are both. To make things more confusing, not all Jews are zionists, and not all Israelis are zionists.
